I keep trying to wrap my head around what's happening in California and why the drastic measures.

One hypothesis is that there may have been an outbreak of the Chinese Virus amongst the tens of thousands in the homeless community, which would be catastrophic.
Another hypothesis is that there may be some infections in the community that has alot of people with HIV . Which would also be catastrophic.
I would not be surprised if the Curve in California and San Francisco in particular is disproportionate to what we see in the rest of the world.

A much flatter curve in the rest of the country but wayyy higher here . I hope I'm wrong .

We are not going to fall into a great depression. We are temporarily being greatly inconvenienced but when we resume our affairs, we will see an economic boom unlike anything we have every witnessed in American history .
President Trump will be able to fully implement his America First Policies with more backing from Americans who have seen the dangers of open borders and China's control of our manufacturing.
Many of you will have a stimulus check that you'll be able to dump back into the economy.

China will pay for this one way or another, you better believe that.

While I am very concerned about what's happening, I am very hopeful for our future.

I keep seeing alot of Trump supporters complaining about the shutdown, saying this is all overblown and what not. If that's the case then you're basically blaming the President cause he's 100% on board with this.
You can't say out of one side of your mouth that you love /support the President and on then say out of the other side of your mouth that this is all a hoax, overblown, not a real problem, etc.

My feeling is that this is worse than expected and in the coming weeks we'll see it.
So Trump who has stood his ground on everything and always been an independent thinker, is suddenly being influenced by hysteria and going along with the destruction of our economy? Is that what y'all are saying ? If that's the case, he's not fit for office anymore.

I have been one of the people who thinks it is overblown and to an extent it is. But the more I read about this and talk to friends in the medical field, the more I realize that we need to take this serious. Live your life, don't get hysterical, but please do your due diligence
Stop comparing America with China. While we are better equipped to handle this , Americans face a different set of obstacles than China.

We have an obesity problem and Obese people with poor immune systems will be affected.

-- The Senate is debating wether to remove Trump from office for withholding foreign aid in order to strong-arm a foreign leader into announcing a bogus investigation of Trump's political opponent.
-- New text messages show that Trump's personal attorney tried to cut a deal with a corrupt Ukrainian prosecutor in which said prosecutor would produce dirt on Trump's rival if Trump recalled the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine -- an ambassador known for fighting corruption.
-- The messages also show that a Trump-endorsed GOP congressional candidate was working with Giuliani and Parnas to oust the ambassador, claimed to be surveilling her phone and computer, and appears to have threatened her safety.

As a concept, it's far more interesting than Rose wanting to save her father. Barbara wants to alter the path of an entire culture and not out of some self-interest, but out of a desire to correct a society, to instill "proper" beliefs in the Aztecs.
Her arc in this episode is the same of all of Western colonialism. The idea that West Knows Best. A little Christianity and a lot of servitude go a long way toward making a great society.

Trying to wrap my head around the atrocities happening on the border right now has reminded me of a story my family has. About Great-Grandpa's journey to this country. It was always a quaint, manifest destiny story, like most family legends.

I'm just now realizing it's horrible.
So great-grandpa is a son in a giant German farm family. They literally can't afford to feed him, so they pack him a bag and put him on a ship with the vague idea that 'cousins' in America will help him find a job. (Nevermind cousins are no where in NYC)

He is sixteen years old.
He somehow makes it safely to Ellis Island but, whoops, you have to pay one dollar to immigrate to America. A whole dollar and sign your name. This is how stringent the immigration laws were.
