Lessons learned in lock down: it gets easier once you reset your expectations. The moment you give up on the idea of going out, it becomes much easier to accept that you will not be going out.
Lesson two: it's much nicer when the flat is kept clean.
Lesson three: alcohol is often necessary. I seem to resort to whisky after each new horrifying development. Wine is one of the few luxuries which makes things more pleasant. But also it is necessary to sometimes not drink, or it all might get a bit much.
Lesson four: never been more important to often put Twitter down. There can be a kind of doom loop of scrolling in morbid horror. But if you allow yourself the things you love - cooking, reading, films, whatever - you can find the calm & tranquility that'll get you through.
Lesson five: I am committed to the idea that this will get easier as it goes on, rather than more difficult.
Lesson six: it is impossible to read about the symptoms of coronavirus without concluding that you definitely have coronavirus.
