Complex systems - like the economy - break at their weakest link. The lockdown is exposing some of those weak links and the risks that the system is facing as a whole.

Reminds me of this wonderful poem by John Donne. An elegy to complex systems really, and pointing out the folly of trying to wall off one part of a complex system from another without thinking of 2nd order effects.
