Punching in for another shift at #DavesCarIDService
First batter up is this slice of Americana for the baseball deprived: The 3-peat WIL champion Defiance Nine is celebrating next to a 1957 Chevrolet. Red car on left is a 1962 Pontiac Catalina. Plate indicates Shelby County Iowa.
Follow up pitch is the car ID version of slow high hanging curveball, a 1957 Chevrolet Belair 2 door hardtop with aftermarket (rather than factory) fender skirts. Likely the same car as previous photo
This one's a bit more of a challenge, I'm pretty sure a 1967 Ford Falcon 2 door sedan
Tough call, but the characteristic tombstone grille says these sudsmen from Old San Antone are next to a circa 1915 Packard truck. Note solid (not pneumatic) tires; that beer's gonna get a little shook up
Circa 1960 MG MGA; to the right is a 1940 Plymouth coupe
Tip of the lid to my buddy Victory Gin for sharing this terrific snapshot from his family album. The "Mechanical Cock-roach" in question is a circa 1912 Hupmobile touring.
this zoom shows the unique high mount brass headlights of early Hupmobiles. Note riveted-on-leather Washington state license plates. Many states used leather license plates, WA until 1915.
I would note that Hupmobiles were very modern for this era, among the first to have a more car-like body than a horseless carriage. Right hand drive was very common in US cars; LHD was largely standardized by the popularity of the Ford Model T.
Both pics are 1937 Chevy, I'm guessing the same car. And your fuming toddler aunt in pic #2 is priceless
Gonna have to correct you on this one, it's a 1950 Plymouth
Way overdue assignment here. Another great pic but a real toughie ID; I think these coeds are roughing it in a circa 1918 Olds Model 45 touring, but not 100% confident. As always, I welcome a conclusive ID from others.
I spy the grille bullets of a 1951 Ford
Quick PSA / reminder to hashtag your ID request with #DavesCarIDService, otherwise it can escape my attention. I promise I will get to all worthy requests in somewhat chronological order.
*worthy requests:

Here's a cool pic from my family album
What is this junked car in my woods

not worthy request:
Hey thmart guy, bet you can't ID thith one
This bouncing baby boy is cooing in front of a 1939 Ford Deluxe
These overall-ed little rascals are with my favorite make/year, the mighty 1932 Ford Model 18/B (aka The Deuce). This one in the Tudor sedan body style.
Ford models through the years:

1907-27: Model T
1928-31: Model A
1932: Model 18 (V8 engine), Model B (4 banger)
1933-34: Model 40A
1935-36: Model 48
1937: Model 78 (big V8), Model 74 (small V8)
1938: 81A, 82A
1939-40: 91A, 92A
Yes, prior to Model T, there were other Ford letter cars; K, N, R, S. Even the first 1903-04 Model A. Here's a the Model T's direct ancestor, the Model S
Sending out help request on this mystery. The closest match I can conjure is a 1920ish Olds touring, but this ain't one. Unique features are 5 lug-10 spoke wheels, valence under the windshield and the supports on the running boards.
Could very well be a European car. At first I was in disbelief of the location, but believe it or not they actually have palm trees in Lugano Switzerland.
Some vintage beefcake for the ladies: these handsome devils are about to hit the road in a 1928 or 29 Ford Model A roadster, along with a jumbo bumper mounted trunk, watermelon, and what appears to be a rolled up mattress
*Easy ID for me, as I have one
A tricky one, but all signs point to 1949-51 Plymouth or Dodge station wagon. And may I say your activist grandma was quite fetching.
And with that I'm clocking out for the day. See you back at the car ID factory tomorrow morning
