Been asked by a few to comments about this ABC/WAPO poll which finds much more robust enthusiasm for Trump among Rs than for Biden among Ds. Unlike the rest of the polls findings, which are time bound & likely to erode as COVID rally effects diminish & voters assess damage
(deaths + economy) & learn what was inevitable versus what was exacerbated by Trump, I expect Biden will generally poll really well against Trump, perhaps even extremely well. And enthusiasm about the candidate is 1 thing, Rs are clearly going to have that advantage bc as I have
be trying to tell people (and show in my analysis like the one linked here) R turnout since Trump has been through the roof- the disaffected R is a myth made up my people who live in DC's Never Trump R bubble. Biden was a safer pick bc he didn't force Ds to defend socialism but
his liability always was that he's boring. Just one of many reasons why his team should be looking to juice the ticket up for enthusiasm w the VP pick and NOT listening the conventional old schoolers who are likely telling Biden he can win over Rs if he picks an unoffensive VP.
I'm of the opinion that few picks can really offset the ticket enthusiasm advantage issue- probably Abrams & Warren are the only 2 that could do that & more like Abrams of the 2. But in terms of CYCLE enthusiasm that's a different matter, and that is NOT what this poll measures.
Up till now, & under my theory & model, CYCLE enthusiasm belongs to the Ds, at least it did until a once-in-a-century pandemic rushed in, and destroyed the American economy 6 months before election day. I believe Ds will still have cycle enthusiasm once the dust settles & expect
it'll likely grow even stronger in their favor once the damage from the pandemic & economic collapse starts to come in. Keep in mind-we are still in pre-crisis stage right now. In addition to that, its probably reasonable to expect that the crisis will compound Trump's issues w
