Isha Foundation - The Punching bag of Tamilnadu

You are a political party in Tamilnadu and you want to appease Muslims for your vote bank. So, what do you do when folks from Tablighi Jamaat irresponsibly goes around spreading the Corona virus all over the place?

Just falsely accuse it on someone who did not! Bingo - here comes Isha Foundation into the drama. Hey anyway, not many people in Tamilnadu have the time to research the facts nor the common sense to understand that this is just a media-driven dinosaur-era diversion tactic.

Sadhguru went online yesterday and begged people to not bring religion into the fight against the Corona Pandemic. He is struggling to have the nation not be split on religious lines at times like this. When I saw his video, I was like 'this man does not deserve this place!'

He is after all my Guru and the pain of seeing him being backstabbed by the very people he fights for, is too much. I wanted to hold his feet and beg him to not make such an appeal. He trusts humanity too much and people simply violate his trust just like that.

I wanted to blast off expletives and slap hard all the people who do this to him.

But I can't, I am an Isha meditator - also popularly known as the punching bag.

I can only explain gently with facts and cannot go over the board!

Yesterday, a media post goes around publishing "Perhaps 5000 people attended Isha Event! Couldn't the Corona virus spread from them?"

I have to gently explain that in fact lakhs of people attended the Isha Mahashivratri function that happened on Feb 21.

Many foreigners weren't even allowed by Isha itself as precaution. And since last 40 days, not a single person is infected and so that function has nothing to do with Corona.

But then they say 'Oh, you see 150 foreigners are held hostage and it was found by a Government raid?'

I have to explain again that Isha itself has already declared list of everyone at Isha Yoga center to the Government, had them checked by Govt health officials & were declared free from Corona on March 28 and everyone in the Isha Yoga center is health-checked every 2-3 days.

Now they come up with another lie 'Oh, the Government put them under quarantine'.

My slap-itch starts again - But I can't, I am an Isha meditator.

The explanation starts again. Many foreigners had registered but were not allowed by Isha itself due to corona scare.

Those foreigners who were in the center on 24 March could not go back due to the sudden lockdown.

Isha & not the Govt put them under self-quarantine earlier. They were anyway checked and cleared by Health officials.

One genius even said 'Erode district is under lockdown because of Isha'.

I was like WTH - Erode is under lockdown because of Tablighi incident and not because of some 40-day old event that did not even happen there!

I want to scream, yell and kick such people who go about blindly sharing such media lies. But I can't, I am an Isha meditator.

I try telling them to just open their eyes and look at basic facts. Whenever I go gentle and explain facts, they throw one more lie.

Like this one guy who tweeted me that Sadhguru is a drug dealer. As if this guy regular buys from him.

My blood boiled actually and I had to ask gently if he has any proof. Nope - None - Nada! He just wants to throw muck and run away. Sigh ...

When I ask for any kind of proof, they would parrot another lie: 'he destroyed all the forests'.

I ask "which forest?" and "can you even show it on the map?" Nope!

That Isha is not in forest land is declared even by Tamilnadu forest department: bit.ly/IshaNotInForest

Then they show a map with fake green filters applied using photoshop and stating 'Isha destroyed Velliangiri hills'.

They come up with the argument that Adiyogi statue was built destroying a huge forest area & even God doesn't like that.
"Which forest?", I ask and no one has a clue.

Google maps clearly shows the Adiyogi statue is built on declassified agriculture land.

Then they say: "Oh, so you killed an agricultural land?"

Duh - that's why the word 'declassified' because no farming happened on that land for years!

Then a genius digs up an old newspaper cutting and says 'Your man is murder accused'.

Well anyone can accuse anyone with whatever they want in India. But is it proven? No. The court had dismissed the charge as baseless in 1999. Hey, who cares for facts?

Sadhguru's wife Vijji attained Mahasamadhi in front of several hundred people. And a suspicion case was filed after 7 damn months on Sadhguru by Vijji's father.

Was he a polar bear hibernating for 7 months and waking up one fine day to find his daughter? Nobody cares to ask.

Oh and then they try their final trump card - "he looted a poor tribal lady's lands".

Nobody asks how the lady was poor in first place if she was already owning so many acres of land and why her own daughter says she is faking & doing it just for money.

And some call Isha as 'mafia'. If it's really mafia, such people would have been finished long back. But common sense, it appears is conspicuous by its absence among such people.

One person even told me that how could all this be false when so many people believe it.

"Oh my goodness" - how do I explain to this naive humanling that till a few years ago, most people believed earth was in center of this universe? That does not make it true though!

I am pained really not just because all this slander has no basis but more so because Sadhguru is doing some phenomenal work in social upliftment. And yet nobody knows anything, no media publishes anything about it. They always try to show him as a villain.

Does anyone know that he is having more than 5000 rural children in Tamilnadu and Andhra studying on scholarship in his Isha Vidhya schools? And that thousands more are fed in those schools for FREE by him?

Has any media cared to publish anything about it ever?

Do you know that his 'Government School Adoption program' has volunteers reaching out to tens of thousands of children across TN and AP, supporting an otherwise crumbling government school education system by taking tuitions for them on their own?

Does anyone know that Isha Foundation regularly trains the tribal and rural children in surrounding villages for FREE on vocational skills, music, dance, etc.? Do you know that Isha has several hundred houses built in nearby villages for poor people?

Does anyone even know that Isha regularly conducts free medical camps in villages all over Tamilnadu, treating thousands of rural people for free and also conducts free yoga classes for people there?

Did any media ever praise Sadhguru for pioneering the Farmers Producers Organization (FPO) in Tamilnadu? Today, Velliangiri FPO is the most successful group of farmers in Tamilnadu. I can safely bet that hard-core farmer supporters also not know this.

Have you seen any of this TRP hungry media talk about the free organic farming trainings that Isha Foundation has been conducting across Tamilnadu and in fact across the country to support our farmers? Not a bit!

I am not even going to touch upon the phenomenal tree plantation work by them, disaster relief projects that they do and river restoration work which is being praised world-wide except in Tamilnadu.

Anyway, most people simply like sensational news and not care about facts.

Worst thing is many right wingers think he is not defending Hinduism. But every time he says or writes something wonderful about the Indian Culture / Sanatana Dharma, they don't celebrate it.

Do they deserve a rap from me? Sure. But I can't.

I really want to punch those with the gall to blatantly blabber fake accusations about Isha and Sadhguru. But I can't, I am an Isha meditator. My hands are tied by Sadhguru to be compassionate towards others, even if they are ripping your limbs apart.

Most media just needs to project a villain to people to get their sympathy and they have got the perfect soft one in Sadhguru. He never kicks back or spews venom at anyone. Just silently goes about doing his work for humanity.

It pains me when I see such cruel hit-jobs but that's just the landscape Isha meditators have to deal with in Tamilnadu. And yet, many do not flinch.

I just cry within and now rant online. I won't kick & yell at someone. I am an Isha meditator. I am just proud of my Sadhguru 🙏
