About Boris Johnson’s letter. Some people have told me ‘oh, but there some people who won’t get the message any other way’. Really? Of course many don’t have social media. Some don’t have the internet. Some don’t have TV. Some don’t have radio. Some don’t get newspapers. 1/4
Some don’t go to work, so won’t be told that way. Some don’t shop, so won’t have seen the notices on shops. Some won’t have many friends, so won’t have been told by their friends. Some won’t have relatives to tell them either, so won’t have learned that way. 2/4
BUT: if you don’t have social media, the internet, TV, radio, newspapers, don’t go to work, don’t go out shopping, don’t have any contact with friends or relations who do any of those things, then you’re doing a bloody good job of self-isolation anyway. 3/4
AND: the letter (which arrived for me today) gives out of date information, is ambiguous about work, and generally unhelpful. So, it’s a diabolical waste of time, effort, money and energy, all of which could have been better employed. 4/4
