Today, I have seen/reviewed letters from docs in MULTIPLE towns and MULTIPLE specialties, preparing to advise AHS of the exact same thing. Due to YOUR cuts, many docs cannot afford to support their community clinics & work for 30% less in hospitals. We TOLD you this would occur.
These docs are distraught and have been wracking their brains trying to make the numbers work to continue both clinic and hosp work... and they can’t do it. Clinic overhead is not covered and thus docs are being forced into extremely painful choices. We TOLD you this would occur.
Docs across Canada and in other medical associations are VERY aware of what you have done in AB, Minister @shandro. The med community is a tight one... good luck recruiting docs to work under NO contract, with arbitrary rule & fee changes and where they’re told where to practice.
We PLEADED with you to #pausethecuts given you would not listen about the chaos you were unleashing... but you proceeded anyways, in the midst of the worst health crisis of our lifetime. We TOLD you that you were undercutting and undermining health care. NOW will you LISTEN???
