So let's be clear: @ICOnews began a formal investigation into "#DataAnalytics for #PoliticalPurposes" in May 2017:

ico.org.uk/action-weve-ta…

putting out an "update" in July 2018:

ico.org.uk/media/action-w…

and a report to Parliament in November 2018:

ico.org.uk/media/action-w…
And in January 2019, @ICOnews was still 'chasing' the (now insolvent) SCL Elections Ltd, i.e. Cambridge Analytica, for failure to respond to an enforcement notice on a DSAR:

ico.org.uk/about-the-ico/…

while clearly stating that its 'investigation' was still ongoing:
Through 2019, @ICOnews handed out a few more related fines 👇 & even managed to get @facebook to cough up... £500k:

ico.org.uk/about-the-ico/…

It consulted (briefly) & "reminded" political parties to behave in #GeneralElection2019:

ico.org.uk/about-the-ico/…

But has pretty much...
...said nothing since then; there's certainly nothing on the 'investigation' page:

ico.org.uk/action-weve-ta…

nor on its official feed:
ico.org.uk/about-the-ico/…

So why are we hearing that there'll be no final report?!

Is that true, @ICOnews? If not, when can we expect to see...
...it published? And if it is true, please explain why we won't.

Oh, while you're at it, and regardless of the report, please publish a full breakdown of what this 3 YEAR ''investigation' with no final report cost the British public.

Regulators have to be #accountable too!
Here is @ICOnews confirming to @EmmaLBriant that the investigation into SCL/CA has "concluded", with no intention to publish any further report "into this matter":

But that does not speak to the *wider* 'investigation' that clearly continued AFTER...
...@ICOnews' last legal action against SCL/CA.

Has the *entire* 'investigation' into "#DataAnalytics for #PoliticalPurposes" been dropped? (It wasn't just about SCL/CA, after all...)

Will @CommonsDCMS be demanding answers? And will the #ICO not even notionally 'finish the job'?
..."at the discretion of the Commissioner" is hardly a sufficient excuse for not publishing a full account of this "completed" investigation - especially one still so clearly in the #PublicInterest.

While we've come to expect little from @ICOnews, this sets the bar to a new low!
