Interesting take aways from Natnl Education Policy announced in the cabinet today.

Glad to see many of our suggestions incoporated.

School level reforms which appealed to me are
:-
#edutwitter #schooleducation
1. Flexible offline n online learning n assessment ( twice a yr). Digitally equipping all schools.

2. 10+2 structure changes to 5+3+3+4. Only from 6th -8th subjects will be introduced in multidisciplinary way. Coding to be made compulsory in lower classes itself.
3. 9th-12th- NO sub specific stream!any subject can be chosen by a child- academics, traditional arts, dance, music equal. No more as extra/co curricular.
4.Vernacular digilibrary, e learning something we discussed quite often. It's imperative we become responsible Digi citizens.

The question is not :

WHO will get affected with covid?

The right question is WHEN?

As a person just discharged from hospital n in home quarantine, here are a few things I learnt along the way.

(Thread) # chennai #lockdown
1. The situation in Chennai is very bad to put it mildly.

Reason: asymptomatic people are carriers. Hence transmission is very fast and we r taken unawares...
2. No beds in govt. or Pvt hospitals.

I went persnly to hospitals, then my students who are wrkng in covid wards, doctor friends tried whole day,got a bed for me.

Need inside person if u want a bed quickly.

You cannot afford to get sick ( but happ from asymptomatic ppl)

#Corona affects on weekdays Only!

Only With slotted timings
Only In certain hospitals
Only if you hv money
Only As per the health care workers interests
Only if the testing machine works.

My experience, (thread)

#chennai ! What an apathy!
2/n I was suffering from fever, throat pain, cough, cold, running nose n stomach upset fr few days.

As I hv co morbid conditions, it was better not to take chances, so,
On the advice of my doctor, I went to nearest hospitals listed in govt websites. They were pvt.
3/n First I tried govt phn helpline numbers to seek assistance. None was working.

Then I went to the frst hosp, there were two health care wrkers outside. They asked my symptoms.
