Held a meeting with officials of @AyushmanNHA to review the progress of #Ayushmanbharat PM-JAY & National Digital Health Mission.

Pleased to share that over 1.4 cr cashless treatments worth Rs 17,500 cr have been provided to the poorest citizens under the scheme.

Pilot implementation of NDHM in 6 UTs has made notable progress & will soon be ready for national rollout.

It will provide a secure digital platform for the consent-based exchange of health information between patients & health practitioners for easy consultation.

A full demo of key systems like HealthID, DigiDoctor, eHospital, Patient Health records etc was provided at the meeting.

Another remarkable aspect of NDHM is that it will enable people living in remote areas with connectivity issues to avail services through its offline modules.

Exhorted the astute scientists at the 1st SCO Young Scientist Conclave to 'Innovate, Patent, Produce & Prosper' to lead our countries towards faster development.

Initiatives like MANAK, ATAL Tinkering Labs are inculcating scientific temper among our youth.

We are providing young scientists with opportunities & exposure to challenging leadership roles at our specialised research labs for AI, smart materials & other new technologies.
India is marching on with the mantra of "Innovation for the people & by the people"

Various policy measures & an enabling STI ecosystem has helped India improve its ranking to 48 on the Global Innovation index.

We are now 3rd in terms of number of publications filed.

It was noted that despite being resource constrained and densely populated, timely #lockdown & rapid augmentation of infrastructure by India have helped to keep the case/ million & deaths/million considerably lower as compared to other countries

ZyCoV-D, the plasmid DNA vaccine designed & developed by @ZydusUniverse & partially funded by @DBTIndia has initiated Phase I/ II clinical trials in healthy subjects, making it the first indigenously developed vaccine for #COVID19 to be administered in humans in India.@IndiaDST
The adaptive Phase I/ II dose-escalation, multi-centric study will assess the safety & immunogenicity of the #vaccine. The human dosing of the vaccine marks a key milestone since the launching of the accelerated vaccine development programme for #COVID19 in Feb 2020. @DBTIndia
This is an important milestone for #AtmaNirbharBharat. I hope that the vaccine continues to show positive outcomes as it has done so far in the pre-clinical phase where it was found to be safe, immunogenic and well-tolerated.

15 Central Teams consisting of public health experts/epidemiologists/clinicians & a JS deployed to provide tech support

A Central Team is currently visiting Gujarat,Maharashtra & Telangana to strengthen ongoing efforts wrt #Covid_19

#GoM also briefed on role of #ITIHAS & #AarogyaSetu in contact tracing & prediction of potential hotspot areas
Both are being extensively used in containment strategy
