Fact is the #CentralVista residence will be smaller than the 10 bungalows the lok kalyan marg residence uses in terms of sqft.
Fact also is the shifting of residence has more to do with security recommendations than anything else.

Today the official residences are scattered all over #lutyensdelhi . By concentrating the PM , President & VP in a close area within easy reach of all govt offices & the parliament the #CentralVistaProject will reduce security & logistics cost manifold saving well over it's cost.

Apart from that most have no idea that the total project cost of the #CentralVista is divided over a decade with no more than $150mn or ₹1050cr being the outlay in 2021-22.
This project actually began a few years ago & is necessitated by earthquake & fire norms.

The coming delimitation of constituencies in 2025 will see the number of MP constituencies increase to ~1000 the new parliament is necessary to build space for that many MPs . This will also entail demolition of existing MP bungalows to build apartments for MPs .

The current PM residence uses ten bungalows on lok kalyan marg with the entire road blocked off .
This includes bungalows uses for the PMO & SPG offices there .
In the new setup all of these is shifted into a dedicated office Building with the residence being reduced one house

Also many seem to equate the cost of #CentralVistaProject to #COVID19India relief efforts. Fact is #India is spending ₹300,000cr on health this year the actual outlay this year on #CentralVista is ₹1050cr .
The ₹35000cr for #vaccines is separate.

Another mistake is thinking that somehow throwing more money at #vaccines would get us as much #vaccine as we need. Its not a money problem , if it were then #XiJinping would've thrown $2Tr on vaccines & gifted them globally becoming a hero in the process , ditto with Biden .

Like I've said earlier more than ₹300,000cr already being spent on all of that . In fact we can't even use all of that money yet because there's little more to buy globally.

#CentralVista is a #poverty alleviation program as well for the thousands of workers involved in it from beginning to completion.
It pays for their salaries & well being while adding much needed #infrastructure to #Delhi .

You have the correct idea . Many #lutyensdelhi worthies also earn rent in crores from property leased to the govt .The monetary losses for them is also why this canard has been floated.

You are free to stand & win election or join the IAS via any competitive exam, you'll get to work in the Area.

My wife & mother in law have both got covid. MIL remains in hospital as on date. At least 12 others infected in the family.
That said I do not see any reason to oppose something just for the sake of propaganda & hatred against one party as you do.

Also one more small detail . The PM residence being built as part of #CentralVista will only be occupied for the first time by the candidate who wins in 2024 & is then appointed PM.
While I believe that will be #NarendraModi , only time will tell who becomes the first occupant .

In time the Janpath Area will also be put into redevelopment to fit requirement.

I've already said the #CentralVista PM residence will be smaller than the Lok Kalyan Marg residence he has today .
It is worth noting that the #Gandhi family including Shri @RahulGandhi occupy a larger piece of real estate at 10JP than 7LKM in #Delhi .
