The trauma for both children & parents of a prolonged hospital stay shouldn’t be underestimated.

3/ What about damaging effects of the repeated educational disruption we’ve witnessed over the past 16/12, which may effect some children for a v long time, maybe always?

5/ Children do get acute #COVID19 & #LongCOVID, some get PIMS & tragically a few will die.
They transmit it to their families & friends, AND to the staff in their schools.
The higher the number of cases, the less transmission is controlled, the higher these numbers will be.

6/ Children from deprived areas, BAME backgrounds & where families are living on low incomes will be disproportionately affected AGAIN! Those whose education has already been more likely to be affected, will be more affected AGAIN.
7/ Those in the paediatric community who’re still repeating the “kids aren’t badly affected by #COVID” line, after everything we’ve witnessed & been through, need to think long & hard about whether they wish to sanction yet more UNNECESSARY AVOIDABLE harm to the MANY children?
