1/11This is the bizarre thing @joanna_brady ….

@UsforThemUK are repeatedly heard saying “NO” to ANY form of protection from #COVID19, a virus that we know can cause significant morbidity & mortality in both adults & children.

But they NEVER offer any practical solutions.

2/ Obvs it’s good news that serious illness/death in children from #COVID19 is rare, but there’s no good way to predict which 1 in roughly 10 children’ll be left w/ long term debilitating symptoms, so letting them be so CRUELLY EXPOSED every day they’re @ school is NEGLIGENT!

3/ Negligent, cruel, unnecessary, unconscionable, wicked, brutal, reckless, unforgivable…..

4/ We have repeatedly asked, as have others, for PRAGMATIC SOLUTIONS @UsforThemUK.

WE WANT NOTHING MORE than to see ALL CHILDREN in school, playing with their friends, enjoying lessons & sports, & all that the school environment can offer.

BUT IT MUST BE SAFE!

5/ Would any responsible parent send their children to school without any protections if they lived in Gaza?

Would @UsForThem members be unbothered if their child was unvaccinated & exposed to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Diphtheria, Polio, Whooping cough etc, every day at school?

6/ Should we expect others to work in HIGH RISK ENVIRONMENTS day after day during a pandemic, caring for & teaching OUR CHILDREN with virtually NO PROTECTIONS, risking their lives & livelihoods to do their job?

7/ At first there was abuse & attacks, now there is a wall of silence!

NO SOLUTIONS, NO ANSWERS, NO HELP to make education safe & sustainable for pupils, staff & the families of both during an unprecedented global pandemic.

NOTHING!

7/ Today >16,000 new cases.

THE CURVE IS GOING THE WRONG WAY @lensiseethrough!

Your claim is that you “put children first in all we do”.

#CHILDRENFIRST you say…

LOOK 👀⬇️!

8/ What do you say to those children affected by #LongCovid for many months?

What is your solution for CV/ECV children or families w/ CV/ECV members to KEEP THEM IN SCHOOL TOO?

What kind words would you offer to children who have lost parents, aunts, uncles & grandparents?

9/ And what advice/help would you give to headteachers struggling with staff absences due to #COVID illness & the stress of working in a HIGH RISK ENVIRONMENT with inadequate protection for over a year.

10/ So yet again, I reach the end of the day without any response from the those who claim to PUT CHILDREN (& their families) FIRST!
