WHO is calling for a time-limited moratorium on #COVID19 vaccine booster doses to enable progress towards #VaccinEquity and ensure least 10% of the population in every country are vaccinated by September. @DrTedros explains why π
@DrTedros So far, over 75% of the #COVID19 vaccines available have been administered in only 10 countries. Low-income countries have received just over 1%, nowhere near enough to fully vaccinate their #healthworkers and at most risk populations.
To deliver on #VaccinEquity, save lives & slow down variants, @DrTedros called on countries to work together to vaccinate:
-at least 10% of their population by the end of September
-at least 40% by the end of 2021
-at least 70% by mid-2022 time.com/6089974/who-moβ¦
