The channel #RussiaToday (known as RT) France had filed two lawsuits against me (see my piece for
@lemondefr translated here in English).
I was acquitted by the 17th chamber of the Paris judicial court.

The court ruled that my comments "are part of a value judgment fed by the research of the author of the message (...) in a recurrent polemic relating to the editorial dependence (...) of the channel (...) on the Kremlin".

The Court also ruled that "the accused author must be able to express himself all the more freely as his analysis is at the heart of the mechanism of freedom of expression, whose limits are not exceeded in this case."

Finally, the court ruled that "this analysis (...) responds to a concern of major general interest in terms of freedom of expression and democracy that would make a criminal conviction of the author of the tweet disproportionate in the light of Article 10 of the #ECHR."

I warmly thank my lawyers @salamowitch and Cyrille Mayoux for their unfailing commitment.
This is the second case concerning me that they have won before the 17th chamber of the Paris judicial court (in charge of defamation and press cases)..

For the time being, I will make no further comment on this matter.
I will certainly have to come back later on some of the lessons I have learned.
