"Firtash, now wanted by the Americans was set up by #Gazprom & by Putin, he was given sweetheart deals, so to import vast amounts of cheap energy into Ukraine. The vast profits he was able to garner from those sweetheart deals gave him a good life, but..

..but much more importantly he funnelled that money to buy up chunks of East Ukrainian industry, effectively as a front for the FSB(?) the former KGB, but also critically to purchase politicians & to fund the pro-Russian political parties in Eastern Ukraine.

So when one is talking about #oligarchs it's important to understand that one is talking about an economic model within hybrid-WAR!
& Out of all the tools in Hybrid-War - the Russian characteristic of war - the 1st characteristic that the Russian military doctrine says is that:

you have an integrated military & non-military strategy: So you have your troops - your para-militaries or your front organisations or your assassins, but with that you have the politics, the economics, the culture, the religion..even sport...So when talking about #Oligarchs,..

you're not just talking about obscenely rich people..but you're talking about a structure of control & power, whether that's in Eastern Ukraine or whether it's in the UNITED KINGDOM, primarily to facilitate vast money flows to tax havens, but also to intimidate..

& silence a Western media into not reporting on these people. So there are a series of outcomes on that...

If these people were so keen to smarten up their act, & they're clearly scared what might happen, I'd like to know WHY...
