Late on yesterday's thread I posted this spectacular video of #Ukraine hitting a factory in #Snizhne/#Snezhnoe in occupied #Donetsk region (view 1'06")
It's the Khimmash plant, the second time in just over a week Ukraine has targeted it - see this tweet:
Here's the British Intelligence update for Monday.
As well as the problems mentioned here for #Ukraine's food production, it should also be remembered that a lot of land is simply unsafe with threat of mines where #Russia's army has been.
Heavier losses for #Russia than in recent days among personnel. This probably reflects the close combat fighting in #Donbas as well as the strikes on Russian command posts with HIMARS systems.
This was the scene earlier this morning overlooking the #Sloviansk-#Bakhmut highway. Both these places you will likely here a lot more of in the next few weeks.
#Bakhmut does seem to be the next big target for #Russia's horde of war criminals.
Big fire in #Donetsk this morning as #Ukraine looks to have hit a big factory in the occupied city.
This is the DonPlastAvtomat plant in the Kievsky district of Donetsk. The smoke can be seen all over the city.
Still in #Donetsk, other explosions reported.
Local media in the occupied city say #Ukraine artillery attacked the area of the old chamber of commerce in the occupied city.
#WarCrime again if true, but could be difficult to prove.
Horrible allegations and stories in every single city, town and village where #Russia's "peacekeepers" visit in #Ukraine. There must be 100s more untold 😢
Spokeswoman for the Southern Defence Force, Nataliia Humeniuk told journalists the news, but no explanation how they got it there and no photos yet - surely it's the first thing they'd do?
Finally some stubborn residents of #Sloviansk are grudgingly evacuating the city.
Having seen the death and destruction when #Russia's army made it to #Lysychansk and #Severodonetsk, most civilians seem to be leaving.
I've edited this report from FreedomUA channel.
⚡️Breaking⚡️
Exclusive - British Prisoner of War, Aiden Aislin @cossackgundi HAS now filed an appeal
Last month he was sentenced to death in the puppet "Donetsk republic" on charges of being a mercenary, despite all evidence he was a regular member of Ukraine's army.
A piece of land by the British Embassy in #Moscow is to be renamed "in honour of the 'Luhansk People's Republic'."

More on @NHLFlyers ice hockey player Ivan Fedotov.
His lawyer claims he's sick with stress and in hospital after his arrest for avoiding national service.
But 🇷🇺 News agency reports say he's in the training unit of the Russian Navy, not the Northern Fleet as originally planned.
What goes through some people's minds?
On the #Odesa coastline there have been at least 3 times when swimmers hit mines which exploded.
So now #Odessa's authorities put fences up to protect citizens. #Ukraine#EmptyHead
I brought you an example of #HIMARS in action at the start of yesterday's thread, and now here's another example.
#Donetsk authorities report at least 30 rockets landing in the city.
Here, north west of the city centre, listen to the sound of incessant explosions at Prospekt Kievsky 68. Nothing obvious on Google maps, but by the sound of it a good chance ammo was stored here? #SaveUkraine
This is a mad 🇷🇺story. Takhir Sozaev is Head of a village in Kabardino-Balkaria region.
He's alleged to have banned Russian, forcing villagers to only speak the Karachay-Balkar language.
On 2 July he was arrested for extremist activities.
Y'day the Council building caught fire!
#Donetsk still burns tonight.
The Russian controlled admin says 3 people were killed and 27 civilians injured in the shelling of the city.
Most of the damage came close to the railway station where the attached market was totally destroyed.
Credible reports tonight that #Russia is only 5 miles (8km) from reaching #Sloviansk.
For all Ukrainians this is a big psychological city, having been taken back from Russia 8 years ago. It will be tough to defend again along with its twin city #Kramatorsk.
Some fake photos were doing the rounds.
Now the press spokeswoman says the flag was dropped on to the island by helicopter, but it was not raised or installed there.
Partisans in #Kherson have uncovered more collaborators.
Local MP Serhiy Khlan reports this on his FB page.
"Local traitors supplied them with information (names) These informants have been exposed... Resistance is growing, payback is near
Another night of no sleep yet - dramatic action in Moscow.
Time to start another daily thread covering everything to do with Putin's disastrous 'operation' in Ukraine.
It's 5am in Russia and Ukraine, on Day 1190 of the war.
Let's begin...
I've still NEVER missed even one day since the start of Russia's full invasion.
But yesterday's thread ended up being one of the most lively. Another near 50-post story of the day, and if you like seeing "bavovna" in Russia, go right through to the end!
Good morning on Day 1176 of the war in Europe.
In my opinion, Ukraine should have won this war in 2022/23.
Effective leadership is based on good, decisive decisions. Sadly, the allies have never been decisive, preferring dithering and half measures.
Welcome to my daily thread:
What I mean by dithering is endless internal political battles in most countries to give adequate weapons. Scholz (Taurus), Biden (everything) the most obvious examples, though Joe was hampered by Congress and is way better than now
But it's always enough to survive, not to win
If you missed anything from yesterday, catch up with this link to the start of yesterday's thread. Scroll down to where you got to and complete your knowledge!
The start of a new week and simultaneously almost the end of 167 weeks of Russia's attempt to liberate Ukraine from its leader and remove the country from maps.
It's Day 1167 of Putin's full invasion. Welcome to Monday's daily thread.
First the link back to Sunday's thread for those who were busy y'day
It started with Ukraine counting the cost of yet more strikes on civilians and infrastructure but there were more strategic hits on Russia during the day, incl a night attack on Moscow.
Day 1163 of Russia's war of choice, invading a peaceful neighbour.
Another bloody and murderous night in Ukraine, but the pressure is all on Russia today as Ukraine signs the minerals deal, the US (finally) continues its shift against Putin and the oil price dives
Here's THE🧵
Good morning and happy May (or MayDay).
I have to say a new month brings new optimism for Ukraine following the US/Ukraine agreement.
That was the biggest news story of a near 50-post thread.
It took me ages - least you can do is read it!😂
Day 1158 of the war in Europe.
This is the daily thread for Saturday 26 April, and as I mentioned last night, the anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster.
A later start today, sorry if I kept you waiting, but let's waste no more time...
Yesterday we saw Russia attack civilians of course, but we also probably also got a reminder of the power of Ukraine's Military Intelligence, as a Russian general and a weapons designer were both confirmed dead.
