There were about 35,000 soldiers, consisting of 15,000 🇱🇹 general levy, 17,000 mercenary 🇵🇱 cavalry & infantry w/large artillery & 3,000 volunteer cavalry consisting of 🇵🇱 magnates. The Muscovite forces, twice as numerous, were constituted in traditional fashion. @CraigM_Regan

🇷🇺 Czeladnin decided to give battle near Orsha, in the place where Dnieper bends southward. In a first line, over a front of about three kilometers he deployed his detachment of the vanguard, which reached the river bank with its right wing; behind these stood. @LanguageIearner

Czeladnin's tactic was to outflank the enemy & then push him to
the river,but this move led to a dangerous extension of his line. At about noon the front troops of the 🇵🇱🇱🇹 army started to move forward.
This attack was repelled by a charge of🇵🇱armoured horsemen led by Sempoliński

The next attack, this time by the left-hand detachment of Muscovites, was also stopped.
This precipitated first panic and retreat, then the dispersion of the Muscovites. Czeladnin was taken prisoner, together with several thousand of his soldiers. @Battlemoose01 @ImperiousGrdsmn

In consequence of the victory, the 🇵🇱-🇱🇹 army regained several castles. Impressed by the scope of the victory, Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor, started peace negotiations with the Jagiellons in Vienna ans on 22 July 1515, final agreements for peace were made. @Wojtek_44
