Hello again. It's a new week, hope it's a good one for you and for all fighting for #Ukraine against #Russia's illegal invaders.

Monday is Day 320 and I've created these threads every single day to bring you the important news + analysis in one handy thread. Feel free to share!
First, it was a busy day yesterday with a lot of interesting stories, more #Ukraine hits confirmed and a lot of fires in #Russia.

Missed anything? Fear not. Click and scroll here:

#Kherson keeps getting shelled. Each day, each night

#Germany has eased the situation a little with the supply of 7 powerful generators. Head of Kherson Yaroslav Yanushevich posted this photo saying 3 are for water/sewage system, one for cancer care + 3 to help power in the city
#Nikopol has already suffered its usual evening shelling too.

Yevhen Yevtushenko, head of the town, confirms rockets hit the Chervonohryhorivka community, but thankfully no-one was injured.
In #Sumy region a school and a farm were among the places damaged as #Russia fired on the region 144 times on 5 settlements during Sunday.

This is absolutely typical, but I don't always report the "smaller" shelling. No one was injured.

#RussiaIsATerroristState
These are the temperatures right now in #Ukraine
#Kyiv -6 (feels like -13)
#Bakhmut -17
#Zaporizhzhia -12
#Melitopol -8

While frozen land is easier to move tanks/heavy artillery, it's awful for people with no heat.
Indeed more energy being used could lead to more power cuts.
A Russian soldier published a video "for posterity" showing the conditions as they are transported to war in #Ukraine

Bread strewn all over in the "kitchen"
The toilet a hole in the floor and no heat or light.
No wonder motivation is a problem!

#StandWithUkraine
#Kherson chat is alive again with a "barrage" on a small village south of the river Dnipro (left bank, occupied)

Mali Kopani can be difficult to find on maps, but it's about 30km south of Kherson city.
Most people saying around 15 rockets have hit something - presumably a 🇷🇺base
I saw this posted earlier and though you may like to see it.

It's a dashcam ride through the village of #Antonivka in #Kherson region. The place made famous by the oft-struck bridge across the Dnipro river.

The village was liberated on 11 November.
We all like a good news story.
"Be more Zelenskyy" is this message!

Much is written about #FortressBakhmut, but even more critical right now could be #Soledar.

Yuriy Butusov, a famous journalist on the frontline, reports #Russia has entered some buildings in the town. However he says the paras of 46th Airmobile Brigade are still in control.
#Russia is gloating over this story, with an official of @ICRC telling State Media in Moscow that they've received around 50,000 requests to search for relatives since the war began.

Numerous questions remain. e.g.
Total for 🇷🇺+🇺🇦?
50k includes multiple requests?
Britain's Intel update does today actually contain 'intel' regarding the war.

Let's hope they sent this airfield's air defence to #Ukraine too!

#StopRussia
A very good haul for #Ukraine yesterday.

#Russia's daily losses are well above average in many categories, including tanks and 3 helicopters shot down.

Plus almost 600 more dead troops.

#SlavaUkraini
In #Russia's #Belgorod region it's a noisy morning!
There were also a few bangs yesterday evening.

#StandWithUkraine
A small victory reported in #Bakhmut.

#Ukraine's border guard division took over a Russian base. They report 18 dead Russians and 24 injured.
A 13 year old girl and 6 others have been injured in #Kharkiv region.

#Russia shelled the market in Shevchenkove village with S-300 missiles.

#RussiaIsATerroristState
The property of #Ukraine's former Education Minister has been seized by the country's courts.

Dmytro Tabachnyk is hiding in #Crimea having allegedly helped Occupiers in #Kherson and #Zaporizhzhia.

My former students at @NaUKMA certainly detested him!
#RussiaOnFire

Another army enlistment office is firebombed in #Russia

However the building in #Bratsk, #Irkutsk region wasn't used in the last mobilisation according to locals.

A Molotov cocktail was thrown through a first floor window.
Wow, Nadezhda.
Dyakuyu! Thank you! Danke!
My first donation for four days.
Nadiia just bought me loads of coffee using the link in my bio
💙💛
Half an hour ago the air raid warning in #Kherson was lifted.

At some point earlier another building was destroyed as shelling continues across the region.

Yesterday in the daily report by #Ukraine's General Staff they reported taking out another of #Russia's air defence systems in #Kherson region.

I'm cautious to report unverified claims, but happy now to publish this photographic evidence of the destruction of a P-18 radar system
I thought you'd like to see a Dodge on the roads of #Kharkiv.

Suddenly the favourite vehicle of the region I'm guessing!

Seriously, I don't know if this is photoshopped but no sign of it and it made me😄
Significant damage to a building in #Donetsk.

This is on Petrovskyi Street in the Petrovskyi district of the Occupied city. A rocket seems to have hit the roof.

#DonetskIsUkraine
Not a good sight further west in #Ukraine held #Kostyantynivka (RU: #Konstantinovka)

The town is a little south of #Kramatorsk and on the front line, about 20km from #Bakhmut.

#StopRussia
With rumours that #Poland may announce giving Leopard tanks to #Ukraine in the very near future, there's also a decent lend-lease from #Russia!

This time the invaders fled leaving this 152-mm "Hyacinth-S" equipment for Ukrainian use to liberate their own land.
#Kherson oblast.
#Ukraine's Intel says it has busted an underground cell of Anatoliy Shariy's outlawed "political" party.

They're alleged to be preparing mass riots in #Dnipropetrovsk region. Officers found instructions on provoking riots and hold street demos in support of Russia if occupied.
Farcical.
The man many see as the frontrunner to succeed #Putin, Secretary of #Russia's Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, has said "#Russia is not at war with #Ukraine, because, by definition, we cannot have hatred for ordinary Ukrainians"

Yet still they happily kill them!
Air Defence active over #Kharkiv oblast right now.

#SlavaUkraini
#RussiaOnFire

Today's two more chapter in the popular series. First we head east - far east.

A business centre went up in flames in #YuzhnoSakhalinsk. The tip of the peninsula here is just 50km from #Japan.
#RussianOnFire 2

This spectacular scene greets drivers in #Kogalym. It's the second big fire in the autonomous Khanty-Mansi region in 24 hours.

The fire is at the Nefteavtomatika plant dealing with both oil and gas production. Casualties not yet known.
Ex-#Georgia Pres Saakashvili is too ill to listen to court proceedings.

A🇺🇸 doctor told court he needs urgent treatment abroad. Neurologist Shahin Emmanuel Lakhani said Saakashvili has convulsions, loss of consciousness, rapidly advancing dementia.
Supporters say he was poisoned
Terrible news reported from #Ukraine.

Local police say 2 British volunteers have gone missing near #Soledar, but one is a New Zealander.

Andrew Bagshaw, from Christchurch, and Chris Perry left Kramatorsk on 6 Jan but haven't been heard from since.
In #Kherson, one person has died in #Russia's shelling today.

Head of the Regional State Administration, Yaroslav Yanushevich added that another woman was seriously injured.

#RussiaIsATerroristState
At least 8 people aae hospitalised after a rocket attack in #Mykokaiv region.

More than 100 houses were damaged in #Ochakiv. More victims are likely

#RussiaIsATerroristState
Twitter glitch!
Not sure how this missed the thread

New satellite photos of the #Engels are base show #Russia has erected some form of protective barrier.

Just four Tu-95 strategic bombers and two Tu-160 supersonic bombers were seen in an image of the base in #Saratov taken two days ago.

In December there were many more planes.
Thank you to @P_Fiala + the people of #Czechia for continuing support. A new batch of T-72 tanks + a TREVA vehicle are on their way.

The Czech PM even signed one of the tanks "I believe that Ukrainians will win the fight against the Russian aggressor."

News of a deadly air crash in northern #Russia

An old AN-2 bi-plane is said to have made a "hard landing" according to officials, after trying to get airborne again when aborting a landing in the #Nenets Autonomous region.

Two people died, 10 more are injured.
More air problems for #Russia with news this evening that a Moscow to Goa plane was forced to divert due to a bomb threat.

The Azur Air jet touched down in Gujarat.
Remarkable story here - a surgeon managed to remove a live "grenade" from a #Ukraine soldier

I'm not good at identifying weapons and ammo, but it was described as a grenade. As it had not exploded sappers supervised the surgeon Andriy Verba who's pictured with the device post-op
The demise of Sergey Shoigu has been predicted many times. I've never been convinced that #Putin would replace his Defence Minister, though he gave him some kind of warning when Shoigu disappeared from view for a while.

Now though there's a real chance he'll be fired next week.
My grateful thanks to Christiane and Marcel for buying me coffees this afternoon💙💛
Another person has been killed in shelling of #Kherson this evening.

Kyrylo Tymoshenko of the President's office says "The occupiers shelled the city once again. It fell right at the intersection of a residential quarter. A fire started in a private residential building."
More supplies coming from #Sweden and #Poland, with the Poles determined to release the Leopards!

Presidential Adviser in Warsaw, Jakub Kumoch says they'll give 10 Leopard-2s to #Ukraine "as an example to the west", while #Sweden is handing over Archer artillery systems.🇵🇱🇸🇪💕🇺🇦
A two year old child is among the injured in #Ochakiv.

Governor of #Mykolaiv Vitaliy Kim says the number of wounded is now 15.

However #Russia says it hit ammunition storage, pointing to this video of the huge explosion to support its claims of hitting a legitimate target.
A strike is being reported on #Russia's forces in #Skadovsk.

This is on the left bank of the Dnipro river in #Kherson region.

No further details yet.

Hello again. Day 1203 of Russia's genocidal war in Ukraine

Anyone with a brain slightly larger than that of a chihuahua knows it. Russian history and Putin's own words spelt it out, but peaceniks, Naziniks and idiotniks are still in denial

More proof coming up in🧵for Day 1203
Yesterday's thread lasted well over 24 hours, but nothing to be proud of.

I know I'm crazier than you, and thankfully you all have lives to live. So you will be needing the link to the start of yesterday's thread so you can catch up on what you missed..

Genocide - a short thread within a🧵
I am simply staggered governments and world organisations are too weak to acknowledge the mountain of evidence.

The recent huge missile attacks should be enough, but useful idiots are fooled by Russia's plausible deniability.

A very early start to my daily thread on Day 1202 of Russia's 3 day 'special operation' to capture Kyiv.

It's so special Putin just doesn't want it to stop!

It's another no-sleep night as I start Monday's news feed on all things Ukraine.

Thanks for your support, I rely on you
Another huge Russian attack continues as I type. It could be the biggest yet.

The attack started about half way through yesterday's thread! So catch up here if you're just waking up.

The biggest problem in Ukraine tonight has been for Dubno, in Rivne region.

Heavily attacked in the evening, but now as light bathes the town, it's even worse. All cruise missiles in Ukraine are about to hit, and 3 drones too.

Day 1201 of Europe's war.
But the pre-conflict hybrid war has already been waging worldwide for years. Hacking, election interference, sabotage - we're all targeted by Russia, even if we don't all realise it yet.

Ukraine can stop the war criminal with our help.
Welcome to the🧵
Maybe Sunday will bless Ukraine with a quiet day?

Saturday was another full-on journalistic stint, catching sleep when I could.
Kharkiv shattered overnight then a daytime attack on a kids' railway.
Operation Web 2.0 & a factory hit in Russia.
It's all ⬇️

Early this morning, just before the end of the previous thread I showed the Azot chemical plant in Tula region on fire.
Not long afterwards, Ukraine hit another facility, this time in Russia-controlled 🇺🇦

This is the Hydromash factory in Melitopol' in occupied Zaporizhzhia.

Welcome to yet another daily thread covering all things Ukraine and Russia.

It's Day 1195 and the day of the latest talks between the sides in Istanbul.

But all the buzz is still about one of the most incredible and successful military attacks ever, and Russia is hurting.
Ukraine's astonishingly well planned, daring and audacious attack is front page news around the world this morning.

If somehow you don't know what I am writing about, you're in for a treat. Re-live the extraordinary day by scrolling through Sunday's🧵⬇️

First important news from Poland where the Presidential election has been won by the anti-EU, anti-Ukraine candidate, right-wing Nawrocki

Despite gaining under than 51% of the vote, the tRUmp-aligned Nawrocki can now veto any legislation passed by @donaldtusk & the liberal govt Image

Day 1194 of Putin's war, though let's remember the initial invasion came 11 years ago.

Since February 2014, not once have western sanctions or military support come close to being enough to restore justice and defeat evil.

Welcome to THE daily 🇺🇦 thread for Sunday 1 June
A new day, a new season. Summer officially started, but nothing is likely to change just yet.

Y'day's thread had some great stories, but everything paled into insignificance when justy before midnight came news of a disaster in Russia's Bryansk region:
1/5
I want to start with events in Bryansk region.
What's happened is a tragedy even if you believe all Russians are partly to blame for the war.

7 people died - five passengers on a train and 2 in a truck. 69 were injured.

The lorry crashed down when the bridge collapsed.

Another night of no sleep yet - dramatic action in Moscow.

Time to start another daily thread covering everything to do with Putin's disastrous 'operation' in Ukraine.

It's 5am in Russia and Ukraine, on Day 1190 of the war.
Let's begin...
I've still NEVER missed even one day since the start of Russia's full invasion.

But yesterday's thread ended up being one of the most lively. Another near 50-post story of the day, and if you like seeing "bavovna" in Russia, go right through to the end!
1/3
Russia says 33 drones have been shot down approaching Moscow during the night.

The biggest incident is clearly this at the Mikron micro-electronics plant in Zelenograd, in Moscow oblast...
