Did I confuse you with 3 separate spellings for the same place?
Well, the original is Мар'їнка
The ' is not used in English but here it means the ї is pronounced more like "yi".
But most Ukrainians prefer to use an i instead of a y, so ii (same with ia=я and iu=Ю e.g. Iuliia)🇺🇦
1/2 #Ukraine's spokesman for #Mariupol' again speaks of genocide in the Occupied city.

Try as they might, the invaders still can't take the small town (pre-war population of only 30k), which is less than 10 miles from central #Donetsk.
Looks like there's been another prisoner exchange, but no news from #Kyiv yet.
#Russia says 106 of its personnel have been released from captivity after negotiations, "who were in mortal danger" which I take to mean they were sick.
Confirmation has just come from Andriy Yermak in the President's Office:

No further details yet.
There are so many stories about the US Intel "leaks".
But as some have clearly been doctored, and we don't know if there was an intended leak by the US, it's hardly worth reporting what is still essentially speculation.
e.g. Ukraine will run out of air defence missiles by 3 May
Not far from the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation is a hole in the pavement a foot (30cm) deep where a witness reported an explosion and flames.

It's Tuesday and also Day 412 of #Russia's illegal war, welcome to my daily🧵
So far today it's very quiet in terms of news. But there was quite a lot happening yesterday. If you missed anything, take a quick scroll through Monday's thread here.
The daily losses published by #Ukraine show that #Russia has now lost a total of 600 aircraft as I reported yesterday when another fighter helicopter was downed.
500 more troops met their end too, all for a few metres of muddy land and Putin's ego.
Here's the daily update from #London too, which again indicates how quiet things are... but one of my followers in particular will be furious with another use of the word "likely" instead of "probably"😅
Also last night I revealed the results of the poll, and you rejected my proposal of switching my profile pic to the anti-war drawing by a 12 year old Russian girl who's father was arrested because of it.
