Home from the event. Around 100 people went home before it started coz they couldn't enter the building due to protesters blocking entrance
Police were there and said that since the protesters were 'threatening violence', they wouldn't intervene, to protect their officers
When those of us who were able to attend left at the end, the police insisted on us walking one way out of the building & taking unlit >
backstreets towards our cars rather than allowing us to walk the opposite way up the street, because reasons. Of course this was entirely >
> pointless since they'd already stated that they wouldn't intervene if things got violent.
Some protesters held signs saying "You are killing us", while smoking cigarettes and weighing hundreds of kg. lols.
First speaker was Dr. Elisabeth Taylor, who has conducted in-depth research on the Safe Schools program & its ideological underpinnings

Started by asking "How would you define the difference between a man & a woman?"... "in A Vic school today you'd be told you're wrong"
Introduced concepts like heteronormativity, inclusion, gender vs sex, & the left's definition of 'homophobia' & 'transphobia'.
"If you're extremely confused at the end of this, that's not necessarily a sign that you've misunderstood it" haha. Accurate.
Showed how presenting gender/sexuality/sex as a spectrum implies to children that the vast majority of ppl are in the middle. Confusing kids
Think they're abnormal if they fall at the far end of the spectrum, turns people who are 'just a man' or 'just a woman' into the extreme
After introducing the key concepts taught by Safe Schools, she discussed the way the program insists on a 'whole school approach'
Which means this stuff isn't confined to sex ed, also stuff like what dorm kids sleep in on camps, & holidays celebrated (e.g. pride month)
Most disturbingly of all, LGBT content not allowed to be blocked by school internet firewalls, including extremely pornographic content
As a lot of us already know, the Safe Schools website points students to sites which advertise sadomasochistic sex clubs etc. 
Talked about the common shaming tactics employed against kids who don't buy into this stuff. One common activity is to draw a line on >
> the carpet, a spectrum from 'agree' to 'disagree' and give kids statements like "genderfluid kids are probably just confused".
Then kids must stand where they fall on agree---disagree. Kids w/ 'wrong answer' forced to explain their position
Then often get in trouble for 'bullying', when they have just been publicly shamed for their very valid opinions by adults.
Meanwhile, schools are not allowed to use terms like 'girls and boys' coz it might cause unnecessary distress to trans kids.
Safe Schools guide urges teachers to use their 'duty of care' to proceed w/ kids transitions without parental consent if necessary
"Some strong-minded children may be able to challenge this teaching, but let's face it, this is a task that's eluded even our government."
Question time was full of concerned parents describing the experiences of their children in these programs, including one 10 yr old who >
> began experiencing severe mental distress & self harming. Eventually found she'd accessed hardcore bdsm porn while doing a school project
Another had spoken to her GP about what was going on at school and the GP couldn't believe it. Most doctors don't know about this.
Second speaker was Dr. John Whitehall, a paediatrician with 50 years experience in the field. He talked about childhood gender dysphoria
"This has blown into a dangerous trend, a dangerous fad, fuelled by the media and directed by ideologues."
Described the phases of transition 1- social transition, 2- puberty blockers, 3- hormone treatment, 4 - surgery.
Every stage carries risks that parents aren't being told about. In fact, new legislation in Vic makes it illegal to tell parents risks coz >
it's considered a form of 'conversion therapy'. It's also illegal to state that 90% of kids with dysphoria find it corrects on its own.
Doctors afraid to speak out because their entire career will be ruined and their reputation destroyed.
Kids are being harmed in the name of this, and doctors are complicit.
He explained some studies on the risks associated w/ puberty blockers (no they're not just 'entirely safe, entirely reversible') & hormones
Which I won't go into here because I'm not a doctor and I don't want to give you the wrong information. I do advise you look it up though.
He's written for Quadrant Magazine a couple of times in the last year focusing on the legal complexity of all this. He talked about that too
But again, I'm not a lawyer, so the laws, cases & studies he cites no doubt have particular language & I don't want to mess it up & mislead
He focused a lot on how this is being done to children and it is a serious form of abuse, unethical both medically & legally.
And described how the gender ideologues have been courting doctors, hospitals & judges, with fancy black tie galas etc.
Ended on a defeated note. "Where to from here? I don't know. We're losing. I don't know what to do as one single doctor."
Riley Dennis' "if you don't have sex with me, you're a bigot" came up from Dr. Taylor during question time haha.
Anyway, that was about it. Afterwards heard a man of ~70 talking about his wife's job as a kindergarten teacher. 4 boys in her class who >
live as 'girls' & are already in meetings with doctors to set the schedule for puberty blockers. They're all four years of age.
Anyway, highly recommend you read Dr. Taylor's paper, it's all carefully cited. At the very least have a look through the Safe Schools site
to see what they're really teaching and what they themselves say they're all about. This whole thing is sickening and maddening.
None of this was new to me, but you could tell from the audible gasps of many that it was new to them.
One final note: this was an event put on by Christians & I'm thankful for their work but I wish there was more organising on this.
It's disgusting that people think a tiny Christian/super-conservative contingent is the only group opposed to his stuff.
So please don't be afraid to speak out whether you're religious or not. We need everyone.
Oh & I know this is all crazy dystopian and hard to believe, but it's true. Please don't take my word for it. Look into it further.
