If you don't know history of "jaywalking," Google it. Term was coined in 1920s by auto industry to shift blame in crashes to pedestrians.
Ford says drivers need tech to apply brakes & lower the stereo to avoid hitting folks in crosswalks —but pedestrians are distracted?!
Instead of developing/marketing tech that just prevents drivers from using smartphones, which actually kills people, Ford blames pedestrians
Ford's closing statement speaks volumes. That distracted people behind the wheel of 4000 lb SUVs need protection from people in crosswalks
This is not a defense of looking at IG when you cross the street. But be aware that there's a campaign to criminalize it for a reason.
