What have Congress Govts did till date in Kerala? Thread on UDF policies which no Congress supporter will dare to boast in public. 😈👇🏾
Privatisation of professional education. 50:50 policy introduced by 2001 UDF gov. Flooded Kerala with low quality engg: & med: colleges.
Resulted in racketeering. College managements were interested only in milking profits. Formed consortiums gained big bargain power.
Got court orders & squashed the basic principle of 50:50 seat sharing. These colleges became mere profit centres with zilch acad output.
BTech graduates from these colleges lacked any skill in engg: who finally found refuge in short film making & bank coaching.
Arrack ban of 1996 was an election gimmick by the then ad-hoc CM AK Antony. Yielded zero output. Did not put an end to hooch tragedies.
Resulted in job loss of tens of thousands of labourers & lakhs of dependents suffered.
Food Security Act 2013 by UPA 2.0 did only harm & no good to Kerala. Share of food allocation to Kerala suffered. OC did not implement+
fearing repercussions, kept in cold storage for 3 years. Modi govt. gave a deadline to Kerala to implement FSA by 1.11.2016.
Resulted in food grain scarcity, price rise & funnily Congress leaders blamed it all on state govt.
Diluting wetland preservation law. By #OC in 2011-2016. Gave paddy fields, govt land etc. to private hands for free!
That too to people like Santhosh Madhavan who have criminal background.
No one should forget about the Air Kerala project. #OC promised that Air Kerala would materialise on 1 APR (N+1) on every 31 MAR N.
Air Kerala never materialised. It wasn't feasible.
Global Investors Meet during Antony govt. 2001-2004 promised industries like a BMW factory in Kerala. No shit happened.
Water plane tourism in Kerala. Dysfunctional after it was inaugurated. Tourism sector in Kerala nosedived since OC became CM.
Last but not the least, the firat Smart City deal of UDF. It promised to Dubai holding that no IT parks will be constructed+
+by the GoV anywhere in Kerala. Part of the deal was that Infopark Kochi will be given to them. #OC's deal would have resulted in+
+a complete halt to any IT development in Kerala in 2005! No technkcity, no technopark expansion, nothing.
Do not forget about those false promises and faulty policies that arrested growth of Kerala model of development.
Sorry. The list doesn't end here. The biggest contribution of Congress to Kerala would be the liberation struggle against first EMS govt.
Congress in liasion with upper caste & religious groups, started a violent struggle against the elected government. Their reason?
Communist govt. implemented land reforms, would have implemented educational reforms causing upset among upper caste & Christian groups.
Congress leaders colluded with these groups and country saw the implementation of art 356 for the firat time in ita history.
