Running thread where I comment on Christian Bell's 'Fall of Rome' thread - chime in with your own criticisms.
Not a good start. We don't definitively know if Romulus & Remus were real or legendary.
The Jews lived in poorer, Greek-speaking areas of Rome, and were forced to use a polluted water supply. They were expelled multiple times.
Multi-racialism was largely an alien concept to the Romans - and their slaves.
They weren't the only ones - Chaldeans (from what was once Babylonia) were also kicked out.
The correct term is 'Dictator'... and you're going to leave out the Civil War? Shit dude, that's a *lot* of context.
Yeah, his populist approach won him friends among the poor - yet the conspirators acted for fear he'd dismantle the senate & republic.
In fact, the Empire during this phase was almost constantly at war and expanding outwards, despite a severe plague in the 160 - 170s.
Slaves were, in fact, a powerhouse of the Roman economy. When expansion faltered, slave numbers began to decline throughout.
Romans, mostly, didn't care about someone's race. What mattered was their 'romanitas' - we have evidence in graves here in Britain!
We have evidence of sub-saharan African women living at part of York's rich Roman elite. independent.co.uk/life-style/his…
Wait, my dude, you were just talking about the 'golden age' lasting until 235. Why we going back to Nero, etc?
The Jews revolted against their conquerors over harsh taxation, among other things. As many other groups have done.
Oh, he's not going there, is he?
Oh yes he is: The medieval libel that Jews murdered Christ. In 2011 Pope Benedict XVI wrote a book absolving them. christianitytoday.com/ct/2011/marchw…
The Empire was split by Diocletian in 285CE. The East lasted until 1453CE. The West was riven by corruption, economic slowdown & attack.
The Empire faced a lot of its problems towards the end from the East, from very white Germanic tribes.
Rome fell due to several factors, exacerbated by an ability to adapt. Some sort of 'white genocide' had nothing to do with it.
Rome in the East lasted until the 15th century. Successor kingdoms in the West adopted nearly every aspect of their society.
Latin remains the language of the church & Roman law influenced judicial proceedings in Europe for centuries. Their architecture is copied!
Yeah, we need to learn that history is used as a weapon to divide us. The only thing Europe needs defending from is your kind, you prick.
In short, this is the biggest load of balls I've ever read in my life. Bet you can't even defend it, @_basedbritish. What absolute pish.
PS. Go report @_basedbritish for raving anti-Semitism.
