That @carolecadwalla nails it again: what is happening is that there is a coordinated and systematic attempt to normalise Fascistic language and concepts. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
This is not about neutralising important #StopBrexit voices: 1/
The whole #Brexit charade is an exercise in:
1) The concerted use of #disinformation to manufacture consent and make people vote against their best interests (sergiograziosi.wordpress.com/2016/07/09/bre…)
2) Twisting the concept of democracy to make invoking "the Will of the People" normal.
2/
On 1)
It is not just Russia. Whoever has a stake in politics and can spend money will be interested in buying trolls' time, bots and #DarkAds to change how we perceive public discourse. sergiograziosi.wordpress.com/2017/04/15/per…
Small problem: more spending power = more effect. Big money wins.
3/
On 2)
The "Will of the People" *is* a fiction. It does not exist. 37.47% of the electorate voted leave (), most likely for a few millions of *different* reasons. While a good proportion of #Brexit promises are now known to be undeliverable.
4/
Moreover, the government itself is busy pushing the idea that they *must* deliver what they explicitly call "the Will of the People" and therefore all attempts to change course *must* be thwarted. This isn't normal!
5/
Democracy requires debate, debate requires disagreements. Painting dissent against government policies as "treason", or as otherwise immoral, is the cultural prerequisite to Fascism. sergiograziosi.wordpress.com/2016/11/13/fas…
Anyone who does not oppose such an idea is profoundly undemocratic.
6/
This situation is dangerous. After death threats, and after assassination by lone deranged individuals, the next step is the organisation of (informal, underground) Squadracce (en.wiktionary.org/wiki/squadracc…). It won't be pretty.

Thus, making noise to #StopBrexit is paramount:
7/
We keep shouting #StopBrexit (not moaning!) because dissent is still legal.
Because #Brexit is self-harm, an excuse to promote nationalism, insulation and fascistic ideas.
Because 37.47% of the electorate does not command the mandate to remove everyone's rights.
8/
But most of all, we keep asking to #StopBrexit because, by making our dissent visible, we make it clear the "the Will of the People" is not fixed. By doing so, we prevent the normalisation of fascistic ideas.
