1/I'd like to believe the Alabama election: I really would. But I think the more likely explanation is that we've put in office exactly what we tried to vote out. Here's the thing: it was evangelicals who actually put the Trump vote over & put him in the White house.
2/but he seemed as reluctant for Moore to be in Senate as any RINO there. Didn't support him any more than enough to be able to SAY he had to evangelical base-same as the rest of the RINOS. This accomplishes a few things. It allows Trump to dump promises he made to evangelicals
3/by saying, "Look, we tried: he didn't get in. The evangelical message won't work." This saves having to bother with them running in any future elections 'for the good of the party'. Trump's a business man: he likely doesn't want them there anymore than the crooks in DC.
4/He can now distance himself from them and any promises made with "Well, we have to look out for those who bring us the votes" or some similar nonsense. The only promise he's really kept to them was Israel & that was more likely for Jewish base than for them.
5/This will allow the religious part of the party to be marginalized even more, and the country will be moved to a more secular business model. Even Jesse Watters slipped and referred to the country as a 'post Christian society' a few months back. All in on the plan?
6/This is why Hannity's so-called interview of Moore was so botched. Hannity's a much better interviewer than he showed there: the way he phrased his questions seemed deliberately confusing, a common enough journo trick. Moore didn't see it coming from him & paid the price.
7/Even Thomas Wictor pointed out how badly Hannity seemed to botch interview. At time I thought maybe he'd been pressured into it by the network. The RINO attacks on Moore were timed for max impact as well.
8/Trump stayed out of it-I thought at first b/c he needed time to examine the evidence. But since when has he not been on top of things FIRST? So, perhaps he did just enough to be able to say he'd tried to help, at too late a time in the election to do any real good?
9/And why did Fox all pile onto Moore? Thomas Wictor's evidence showed clearly Moore was innocent. These ppl look at that kind of stuff all the time: should KNOW it was bogus, yet harped on 'credible'. Only one who gave Moore HALF a fair shake was Ingraham.
10/This is EXACTLY the same kind of TOTAL CRAP I saw go on back in RINO McCain's race-which seemed to actually be a hand off to Obama. The only one NOT in on it: Moore. Sadly for Reps, this kind of garbage is why ExDems like me LEFT the LEFT. It's going to cost them. WAIT.
11/People simply aren't naive enough to buy into this manure anymore, & Reps & Trump knew before election ppl tired of BS. So whatever happens, that's ON THEM. You can fool some of the people SOME of the time...but when you can't YOU'LL be the FOOL. Doubt we'll see a 2nd term.
