Racial pride is a really thorny thing, and I think white people get into trouble because they see the pride in minority communities and think, "wait, why is it bad/destructive if I engage in that?"
The answer, I think, is that race is not a meaningful trait. It's ultimately not something to be celebrated, and what we witness when we see it in minorities is pride and solidarity. An ability for one's culture and people to survive systemic oppression.
I also think everyone overlooks the idea of cultural identity and pride. No one in the right mind would balk at someone celebrating their Norwegian heritage. Or going to a Highland Games festival in central Illinois (as my adopted Scottish family did when I was young)
