(1) Broward County Sheriff's Deputy Scot Peterson, the only other armed person on campus during the Parkland shooting, waited outside the building instead of going in and saving lives.

I have no words.
(2) He requested Police protection and now his home is guarded by 6 Police officers.

He should have left town and gone into hiding. It would have been a better use of scarce Police resources at this time.
(3) If that wasn't galling enough, I then learned this 54yo was getting is over $75,000 p/a.

For a cushy office job at a school, not the dangerous, unpleasant kind of work his lower-paid colleagues do.

Pay should reward performance & responsibilities, not length of service.
(4) He can't be prosecuted, probably can't be sued, and will retire with his pension intact.

Reportedly he is claiming he did well by calling it in. So guilt & shame won't play on his mind, either.
(5) If i was a parent with a child at Douglas High, I would not let them go back there. Too risky. Too traumatizing. I'd be making a fresh start in a community with sensible conservative leaders.
