1. The great economic news today lends evidence that postmodernism is a complete an utter failure. The postmodernist believes narratives shape people's thoughts and thus can and will change reality.
2. So a postmodernist spends his time changing the meaning of words, pushing a narrative, weaponizing words, censoring other narratives, words, opinions, and shaming those who espouse those views.
3. We have seen this in action over the last 9-10 years. It is reaching a crescendo in 2017-2018. The postmodernist's goals, at the moment among others, are to not normalize Trump, to talk down the economy, to censor conservative thought and to create an environment of fear.
4. To accomplish those goals they have taken over most of the legacy media, have funded fellow travelers in creating social media platforms, have shouted down conservative speakers, and predicted economic gloom and doom on every action item Trump makes.
5. In other words, the postmodernists have been widely successful in completing their objectives that they believed would accomplish their goals. They own the media, they can shape whatever narrative they want, they have created an environment of fear.
6. If postmodernists were correct they should have complete power now. The economy should be in the tank, everyone should hate Trump, conservatives should be extinct. A new reality should have emerged. yadda yadda yadda.
7. Maybe in their small safe space bubbles this has happened. I don't know. I don't live in the bubble. However, out in the rest of the world it has failed. It has failed because the underlying premise of the postmodernist is wrong.
8. People are not just a function of their thoughts and are not controlled by narratives. People react to their environment. This is seen in the economic numbers.
9. People are hiring not based on a narrative but based on their need for labor, people are buying not based on a narrative but based on the fact they have more money in their pocket.
10. The hiring and buying is creating more reasons to invest in future production which creates more jobs which produce better and better economic numbers. You can form any narrative you want but those actions trumps all narratives.
11. The stock market is controlled by narratives to a large degree, main street economics are not.
12. In the Trump era it appears the postmodernists have brought a knife to a gun fight.
