And they brought Jesus to Golgotha, which means, “the place of the skull.”

And they shot him. 20 times.

The inscription of the charge against him read, “This…is a black man who dared to live in white America.”
With him they killed two other “terrorists,” dropping their bodies on his right, and his left.

They left him in the street for hours, taking bets on when someone would notice.
Those who passed by derided him, shaking their heads and saying, “You snowflake! You who said, ‘I am unarmed, I pose no threat.’ Pathetic! Raise yourself up from the dead if you’re so fucking special.”
The religious leaders also mocked him among themselves, saying, “He was no angel. Why didn’t he just comply with the orders? He should have respected those in authority!”
When it was noon, darkness covered the whole land until three in the afternoon. At three o’clock, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me??!??!"
Those who heard this said, “Ha! Listen! He thinks someone gives a shit about him!” Then someone ran, filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on a stick, and gave it to him, saying, “Let’s see if some other thug comes by and helps him up!”
Then Jesus….gave a loud cry.

And died.

And the Washington Monument was torn in two, crumbling down from top to bottom.
When the police officer, who stood facing him, saw that, in this way, he died, said,

“Shit. Surely…we are complicit in this child’s death? His blood is on us and all who stood by, complicit.”
