Just watched a replay of the Commonwealth Games men's 5k. I'll do a little retro-commentary if you missed the race. Beginning with this guy...
.@Moh_Speed rocking the big shades
Kenya's Edward Zakayo went with the big chain. Within 30 seconds of the race starting, he had removed it.
I was impressed by how full the stands were. That's a lot of fans!
They cut away to show shot put qualifying. Tom Walsh threw one time and went 22.45 meters, breaking the Commonwealth Games record.
I don't care how slow it is, don't run in lane 3 during a 5,000-meter race.
It was pretty slow at 1600 (4:46.2), prompting Malawi's Grevazio Mpani to take the lead...
...but the peleton always gets its man.
Joshua Cheptegei chose to push from a mile out...
...and he broke the field, one by one, before finally dropping Mo Ahmed in the home straight to win in 13:50.83.

Cheptegei ran his final 1600 in an incredible 3:58.0. 61.9-61.3-58.6-56.2.
Cheptegei took the full Ugandan 5k squad on his victory lap
Mo kept his sunglasses to celebrate silver with the Maple Leaf
Kenya's Edward Zakayo (sans chain) earned bronze and channeled Ezekiel Kemboi by wrapping the flag around his waist and doing a dance
Fun race. Just wish it hadn't started at 2:40 a.m. ET.
