1) All parenting advice is ineffective
2) For we are dealing with the unpredictably of human beings
3) There is no formula for bringing up a child
4) For nature seems to bring up the child better than any parent
6) Because, you see, as they are bringing up a child, they are simultaneously bringing up themselves
8) As a result, most of what he passes along are his own misunderstandings
9) A parent is too close to a child to appropriately guide him
10) He has much too much to lose
12) The parent has so much of himself in his child, that he cannot truly see the child
13) Thus, all that he does to raise him is 3 parts failure to 1 part success
15) If he becomes too lenient, there are problems
16) If he is non-negotiable, there are problems
17) If he negotiates, there are problems
19) If he acts out of guilt, there are problems
20) If he tries to be stern, there are problems
21) If he tries to be compassionate, there are problems
23) And they search for this for the whole of their lives
24) There is a Great Truth behind all of this
25) Dispassion
