The capitalist argument that there will always be a need for garbage-men and toilet cleaners, is very telling on the issue of racism. Racism is not just affecting the ones living next to us, but effects trans-nationally. #marxism #racism #capitalism #intersectionality
Racism is a cornerstone of outsourcing labor to the lower classes and the lower ethnicities both within the exploiting country, and outside in economically weaker countries. In capitalism, each economic class, ethnicity class, and sex class is assigned labor roles.
Racism serves to keep the people within and ethnicity class in their assigned labor roles. Just the same as misogyny serves to keep women in assigned labor roles (overlapping in ethnicity and the same sex).
Racism exists so the Chinese can make our electronic gadgets, black men are available for prison labor, the Indian can make our home goods, the Middle Easterners will continue enduring the economic activity of military exercise (the military is also a job sector)
Racism exists so Congo will continue providing low wage labor in cobalt mines, so Ghanaians will know their place to provide child labor for cacao. Racism exists to tell ethnicities to know their place and continue providing labor to support the oppressor.
That is why the issue of #CulturalAppropriation is so misunderstood. It is not about stopping well-intentioned uses of oppressed cultures. It is about recognizing where that came from and struggle to overthrow the system that made the exploitation of their labor possible.
It is about fighting against the exploitation of our proletarian sisters and brothers nationally and internationally, because make no mistake we are not apart.
