As someone who has worked on 4 female led AAA titles, I want to say a few words about this Battlefield hoo-ha. Whilst they may recreate some historical elements, let’s not pretend the Battlefield games are super realistic portrayals of warfare. They’re not.
Yes, women have been involved in wars, in many different roles. Since time immemorial we have always fought. So let’s celebrate that.
Moreover, women are half the damn population. We are brave and interesting and complicated. We get shit done. We deserve our fun, our stories, our adventures. Who knows, you might enjoy them too.
So stop the ugliness and try a little empathy.
