#Breaking #Sweden’s 2nd #COVID19 wave outbreak is getting much worse. It has reported 10,177 #coronavirus infections since Friday, almost double last weekend’s total, and 31 #COVID deaths. On Friday #Sverige had 4,062 infections the most by far of any day in the pandemic yet. In #Denmark Health Minister @Heunicke says the #COVID19 reinfection rate (R0) is now 1.1 down from 1.2. The R0 number measures infection spread with anything over 1 being degrees of a #coronavirus outbreak.

In both cases very high numbers for a Monday...not a good sign for the week to come. I have been asked by @TalkerTeacher to do a #bced #thread on going to school in #Denmark during the age of #COVID19. I have done this before but it was suggested it would be good to go over it again and cover off anything new. I will begin by setting the stage. First off B.C. and #Denmark can’t be compared in an apples to apples way. There are some drastic differences both societally, Denmark is a social welfare state, and how the school system itself is structured. Let’s start there. #bced

While there were no #COVID deaths in today’s update there were two over the wknd. The number of #COVID19 infected Danes in hospital (110) is up since Friday (+9) while those in ICU (17) is up (+1) those on a ventilator (11) have also edged up (+2). Yesterday there were 49,143 #coronavirus administered in #Denmark.

Today total to date global #COVID deaths will surpass 1,000,000. Yesterday #India recorded 89,010 new #COVID19 infection cases while suffering another 1,124 #coronavirus deaths. So far numbers in India continue to slowly ease off albeit from insane heights.

Final #coronavirus numbers for Sept 25th. The world added 317,952 new #COVID19 infection cases yesterday, the 2nd highest daily total to date, while losing 5,818 lives to #COVID. Total to date global deaths now surpass 990,000 and could pass 1,000,000 by Sunday or Monday. #India registered 85,468 new #COVID19 infection cases yesterday while losing 1,093 lives to the #coronavirus. India’s numbers while still sky high continue to slowly edge down.

#Denmark has just recorded its highest to date number of daily #COVID19 infection cases, and first day ever with over 600, with 678 new infections in the last 24 hours. #Danmark is also reporting two more #coronavirus deaths. As for #COVID19 infected Danes in hospital (101) the number continues to climb (+6). Worth noting until today #Denmark has not had in excess of 100 #coronavirus hospitalizations since the end of May. The number in ICU (16) is also up (+2) as are ventilator (9) numbers (+4)

Final #coronavirus numbers for Sept 24th. The world added 314,830 new #COVID19 infections cases, very high, while losing 5,872 lives to the virus.
