@CurrentBiology Beethoven’s whole genome was sequenced from one of the matching locks, the Stumpff lock. The ultra-short DNA fragments characteristic of historical hair samples (mean fragment length 29.62 bp) resulted in a 24-fold (!) genome coverage. (credits: Anthi Tiliakou)

Fue el 3º en tener ese nombre. El 1er Ludwig van Beethoven fue su abuelo, y el 2º, su hermano, quien murió 6 días después de q él naciera. ya desde temprana edad, su padre vio grandes dotes musicales en su hijo, y le obligó a estudiar con la esperanza q se convirtiera en un genio
a la altura de Mozart. Durante años, Beethoven pensaba q había nacido en 1772, dos años después de su fecha real. Esto fue pq su padre quería hacerlo parecer más joven y talentoso, como el resto de los niños genios, especialmente de Mozart, a quien conoció cuando tenía 17 años
