#TedLasso won at the #Emmys for comedy series. In one of the show's scenes, this 26,000-seat stadium looks filled to the brim, but what most people don't know is the crowd is mostly made of fake people who weren't even filmed in a stadium.
This soccer scene was filmed during the pandemic, so in order to keep actors safe and to limit the number of extras on set, production team @Barnstorm_VFX had to get creative using fake people.
In order to make the shot look real, the Barnstorm team used a few different techniques including crowd tiling, plate extras, and motion-capture animation.

Medical specialties as #TedLasso characters. A #MedLasso thread.

Starting with @TedLasso whose eternal optimism and relentless cheer is so obviously pediatrics.

See also: Dani Rojas
Another obvious choice is @SarahNilestar as Dr Sharon Fieldstone.

Shows vulnerability, always there to listen, but is going to tell it to you straight.

#MedLasso 2/
Next there’s the sassy but oh so lovable Keely Jones.

No nonsense and ALWAYS supportive of women.

It's been over a week since @TedLasso Episode 6 for which I was asked to be a guest on the amazing #MedLasso podcast with @ETSshow and @TheRealDoctorT. While we covered quite a bit, there was SO much we couldn't get to. Sharing a brief 🧵 here.…
I mentioned at the beginning that I had major #ImplicitBias when we first met @TheKeeleyJones. Since then, she has become one of my FAVORITE characters, for many reasons.
There is so much more to her than what is on the surface. She epitomizes don't judge a book by its cover.
Funny I reacted to her initial entrance in that way as I have often been told I am too bubbly/ enthusiastic to be taken seriously or seen as a professional. Goes to show you how these unconscious stereotypes can influence all of us, even when we have been on the receiving end.

I’m still loving this season of #tedlasso, even though it’s going into some pretty complicated and emotionally difficult areas. I think Nate’s journey is particularly complicated and tricky to deal with.
My interpretation of his arc is that he’s filled with self-loathing. He looks in the mirror and sees someone weak and pitiable, rather than sweet and insightful. He thinks to be strong he has to reject that person completely. It’s why he spits at himself in the mirror.
It’s why he clings so desperately to any piece of positive enforcement, and why he lurches out of control and lashes out like a total dick when anyone treats him like his ‘former’ self, or disrespects him.

“Ted Lasso‘s” mid-August Christmas episode might be the most earnest half-hour in a series already unabashed in its optimism and joy.…
The episode was written just before the 2020 holiday season that was thwarted by the coronavirus pandemic. So the fact that the holiday treat is dropping in the middle of August can be “another chance at Christmas cheer"…

I think the most remarkable thing about the latest episode of #TedLasso is the way it grapples with redemption.

Both Rebecca and Jamie are forced to accept that apologizing isn’t enough.

A 🧵 with spoilers
There are two sides to this.

1) You have to change yourself

2) Accept that apologizing might not be enough.

As Nora says:
“Sometime you have to do the right thing, even if you lose.”
Sometimes redemption is bigger than oneself. We see this in Jamie’s actions later in the episode.

He’s the first non-Nigerian player to black out the sponsor logo.

“You’re my teammate We got to wear the same kit” - Jamie

Last year when #TedLasso came out, they dropped three episodes first, then went weekly. When we were writing season 2, we carried the expectation it would go out the same way, that people would be able to watch these first three all at once.(1/3)
Now it’s not like anybody’s mad that the S2 release was weekly-only from jump. The episodes all stand alone, of course; it doesn’t really matter *that* much. (2/3)
But if you felt like watching S2 eps 1-3 in one sitting, you’d be watching them as we originally imagined you would be. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This has been Ted Lasso: Behind the Music. (END)

The Tao of #TedLasso - 11 lessons for team-building and performance.

Now slap that Believe sign and dive in!👇
1) Use Analogies
Ideas need wings to fly. Connect the idea to an image and watch them soar.

1. I want a united team
2. "When it comes to locker rooms, I like ‘em just like my mother’s bathing suits. I only wanna see’em in one piece"

Guess which one is Teds.
2) Win with Kindness
“He thinks he’s mad now. Wait till we win him over”.

Ted is surrounded by angry staff and players. They are not lost causes, but causes to be won.

He keeps at it, chipping away at fear and reinforcing kindness. You capture more flies with honey.

A small story:

Baseless theory in 3,2...

Part of the outpouring of completely earned love #TedLasso is getting is because in an unshowy, undidactic way @jasonsudeikis and Bill Lawrence created a potential pathway forward for masculinity.

Ted Lasso loves sports, stands up for his friend when her ex-husband is being an absolute dick to her, has a wardrobe which he has spent no more than 16 seconds of thought on.

In sum, he ticks a lot of the "Guy" boxes.
He's also curious, which demands vulnerability because to be curious must begin from the statement, "I do not know."

I know a fair amount of male-identified humans.

That's not an easy thing for them to say.

He's enthusiastic, gleefully supportive of his friends and players.

I was lucky enough to serve on #AFIAwards jury again. PLOT TWIST: Everyone on 2020 jury considered both TV & film (that was eligible; FYI some shows/movies not eligible, I literally don't make the rules). Anyway I can now issue a ruling on whether film or TV is better... 1/2
