More than any man alive, Nigel Farage sold Brexit to the British people.

He convinced millions that the EU was to blame for their problems.

Now he says he never promised leaving the EU would be a success or that it would help us.

Help me expose this lie.

More evidence that his man is a shyster.

His political career and his personal fortunes have been based on demonising foreigners.

I'm sorry to say it worked... until he started to have to deliver on his promises. And then it all began to unravel.
It transpires that Nigel Farage is nothing more than a shock jock. A dated, reactionary radio presenter with a gift for self-promotion.

He has no answers to the problems created by his beloved Brexit.

He just wanted to be famous for something.

1.Pretending that the wild promises of the Leave campaigns were achievable

In trying to deliver the impossible and contradictory claims of Johnson and Farage, she was doomed to failure from the start.
2. Interpreting the EU referendum (and its 17.4m Leave voters) as if all they cared about was reducing immigration.

There is strong evidence that people care more about enabling free trade than hammering immigration, but it backed up her long-standing prejudices.
3. Rounding up 51.9% to 100%

And claiming that she could interpret the ‘will of the people’ and that they had spoken as one – this classic ruse of dictatorial regimes was bound to backfire sooner or later.

Q: Brexit will make us poorer as a nation, as families and as individuals.

A: NO - the average taxpayer spends 11.8p a week on EU membership, which is a tiny slither of total government spending.

A: NO - we'll lose much more more than we save. You can't control money you don't have! PLUS we haven't even begun to negotiate future trading arrangements so we don't know how much the EU will charge for single market access.

Here are some of the key findings from the report in slide form.
First an overview of the study itself:
Rich qualitative data (online survey & focus groups) gathered across the Central Border Region. Detailed examples & viewpoints heard from people on both sides of #border.

Respondents to the survey came from across the 8 local authority areas of the Central Border Region, moreorless equally from both sides of the border. 50/50 male/female. 80% 31-65 yrs.
There were far fewer Leave-voting respondents so they got extra attention in our analysis.

20 *more* reasons I voted to leave for #Brexit.

1. The only people who get to influence the EU are those who support its aims and direction of travel. Everyone else is frozen out - even if elected to the Parliament. They are ringfenced.
2. It says it wants free and fair trade but the complexity of its own bureaucracy means it can always find ways within its labyrinth of rules to exclude produce for political reasons irrespective of international trade law.
3. Member states have no right of initiative in international organisations meaning that good ideas die in Brussels if one of the original six has an objection.

1) Thread - All Brexits are bad and what we voted for
It's often said by brexiters that "it's not all about economics"
However, the *actual* Leave campaign was almost wholly about economic arguments

With the leak of this 2-8% report those arguments are now trashed
2) We seem to have forgotten this however economics played a huge part in the Vote Leave campaign, making up over 2/3rds of the primary arguements. The clear message was we would at the least be no worse off and at best much better off. 4 of the 6 below state this clearly
3) & the fact is voters believed we would be no worse off. People prioritized immigration certainly, but against a backdrop of there being no consequences from Brexit - few are prepared to actually pay for ending FoM
