I'm not going to ask people to make it a condition of working with publishers--I know the market--but if you can afford to, that would be pretty cool.
It's... slightly heartbreaking how many creators and past and current DH employees have privately expressed support but also said that they don't feel safe speaking out publicly, and/or don't think their voices would make any difference. I don't know what to do with that.

It's hard to describe the intensity and pervasiveness of the despair that goes with trying not to think about your gender identity because you wouldn't have the resources to do anything anyway.
And not being able to say anything, having to rationalize it even once you ARE out, because people keep asking; and having it be one more piece of you that this fucking place got to hold hostage.
