You could tell it wasn't written by a bot because the guy lists having written for The Onion and McSweeney's and it reads like a piece written for McSweeney's.
I read that tweet and my first thought was not "interesting ML application" but "hey, a George Saunders fan."
Or Don Hertzfeldt, perhaps.
