How close to unity are the odds that Democrats will roll over and let Trump & McConnell name someone even more right-wing than Gorsuch to SCOTUS with little to no fight? After all, it would require incivility to stop it.
I expect Democrats to put up the same opposition they did to the tax cut that gutted our nation's finances--pro forma. Issue a few press releases, make a few speeches and that's it. When you start a fight believing you have lost, the outcome is predetermined.
At least they should go down fighting. Use every trick in the parliamentary book to bring the Senate to a halt. Perhaps Senate Democrats should simply leave Washington, every one of them, refuse to vote on anything, force the Sergeant at Arms to bring them in bound and gagged.
Show some God damned EMOTION. Democrats were screwed beyond belief over Garland and didn't do a damned thing to even slow down the Gorsuch rubber stamp. Now we've had more than a dozen 5-4 decisions reversing rights, cementing Trump's fascism. When will enough be enough?
