Okay so I've been modelling the "indicative votes" route in Parliament supported by Rudd, Lidington etc... 1/ To model "every conceivable" option you have to model Labour's; let's call it Norway-minus...
2/ Suppose you ask MPs to pick ONLY their most favoured option. My guess is 60 Tories go for No Deal; 140 for Canada FTA; the rest split 55:60 for Norway Plus and PV...
3/ 10x DUP support Canada; 39 SNP/PC support Norway Plus; 1x Green supports PV; Libdems support PV

Second part of my "Oh god do I really need to pay attention to Brexit now?" thread, mostly for Americans who have enough to worry about at home.
So it’s now June 2016. Cameron has lost the referendum; Cameron leaves. After a summer of chaos Theresa May becomes PM by default. She was a Remain supporter but now she tells everyone she’ll deliver Brexit. Since then, everything has continued to be a gigantic mess.
The core problems haven’t changed: 1) People who voted to Leave were sold a bunch of lies about Europe; 2) the UK will suffer serious economic harm if we go through with Brexit; 3) many politicians realise that Brexit will be a disaster but are scared of the Leave majority.

I'm a strong and committed Remainer.

But I also think it's a mistake to force Jeremy Corbyn to commit to a second Referendum on Brexit. Labour members shouldn't go down that road.

Here's why:
If Corbyn says he is committed to a second Referendum *before* Theresa May's deal has been voted on, it will be a disaster.

Why? Two reasons:
First, May will immediately accuse him of helping the EU and trying to wreck Brexit. It will unite all Tories (ensuring her deal goes through).

Secondly, it will allow her to say Labour were always angling for No Deal, and are to blame from fallout of No Deal.
