Goldstein: "I like to talk to people...I hoped that Corbyn would see that we were genuine, and honest. That was our overriding goal (of meeting with him). Unfortunately that connection was not created."

Goldstein: "I told him (Corbyn) to tell a camera that these people (who heckled the Jewish community demonstrating) that they did not do this in his name, as he said they didn't.
"He has this ability to disappear from a conversation and he shrugged".

Goldstein: "Corbyn does not recognise antisemitism. Unfortunately he sees us (The Jews) as the oppressors."

Goldstein: "We told him that he doesn't recognise any goodness within Israeli society - free press, democracy, LGBT rights etc.
"For the Labour leadership this isn't about 1967. It's about 1947/48 still. It's a fundamental problem we have to deal with."

Goldstein: "The IHRA definition is a safety mechanism. Where Labour has changed it is to deny the right of Israel to exist as a Jewish homeland. Where does that lead to should Corbyn become PM?"

Goldstein: "I can tell you that the first people I would ask to ammend the IHRA definition of antisemitism would NOT be the Labour Party."

Goldstein: "It is more important than ever before that the Jewish community stands together."

Goldstein: "The most heartening thing I have found is the number of non-Jewish MPs who have contacted us and offered support. They are putting careers only the line on a daily basis. Every time they pick up their heads and say something, they are threatened with deselection."

Goldstein: "What has become clear is that we have a long-term battle in our hands. The current leadership of the Labour Party is un-British in the way it operates."

Goldstein: "I don't want to take sides. I hate the position Jews are in. It was brought to a head and we felt the need to take action. We could have received an understanding hand of friendship...but this has been turned into an idealistic battle."

Goldstein: "(after the April meeting) Corbyn told me to tell everyone that he was 'kind and warm'.
"We've not heard a word from him since April 24."

Goldstein: "We have the right to speak up for ourselves. Nobody else will do it for us."

Goldstein: "I believe that if we stand together that we will win this argument and ensure it comes out in our favour. It's not a great place to be in but we need to ensure we get our message out."
