I have known Brett a long time—in a number of different capacities. I will have a lot to say about his nomination in the coming days. For now, I will just say that he is a scholarly and thoughtful judge, a genuinely ecumenical thinker, and an extremely fine person.
In the current political climate, that may not count for much. But it still counts for a lot in my book.
