To do this we look up the bills in front of the house today. It looks like #HR200/#HR965. Alas, neither have today's activity so we wait.

Side note - #HR985 looks like the Sec. of the Interior might be getting ready to sell things we don't want sold. 😯

Hmmm....

We're starting to get blue's clues here, but on quick glance I don't see much here other than the word "lobster" on two pages in this document; lobster defined and page 103 which doesn't say much about what Bruce said.

I'd like to send my big THANK YOU out to everyone today.

I left last week to the men to celebrate or lick wounds.

I started with 2 goals, both accomplished:

✔️ Incumbent no longer making law

✔️ Find a way to make campaigning not suck while getting $ OUT

Final 1st round vote count looks like 16,260; 5.73% of the votes.

I spent <$800 of my own money, accepted no campaign contributions (probably <$750, I rounded up on stamps - I'd rather estimate high).

Bad for the planet, expensive and annoying.

I had no idea how incredibly bad media coverage had become until I ran for office...maybe it's always been bad.

I was an active participant in this mess. I'm sorry.
For all the people who had real, legitimate, interesting, newsworthy stories that I thought were being whiny that they didn't get covered.

I'm sorry. I should have listened. You were right.
For the people I wrote off as nutty when you told me that the way candidates were covered was a viscious circle; polls were free advertising for those who least needed it.

I shouldn't have rolled my eyes or heralded the press's right to cover, forgetting their responsibility.

1/ The GOP falsely claims "corroborating evidence" only exists when you have an innocent bystander at the scene of the crime who can later tell law enforcement, "I saw it all." You almost *never* have that sort of evidence in a sex crime—and that's *not* what corroboration means.
2/ Corroboration is any fact that is "probative" with respect to a given proposition—meaning, it tends to *support* a given proposition. Any fact known to law enforcement that tends to support the proposition that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted Dr. Ford is "corroborating evidence."

I really should do a thread on buying a house. The amount of things that I’m being hit with that I didn’t know is astounding and I’m sure loads of you guys don’t know them either.
Alright cool, I said I would do it and now I am. Buying a house: Shit my parents didn't know/didn't tell me - a thread.
God bless our parents. A lot of us on here aren't blessed with parents that were able to buy their own house, and therefore although they would love loved to guide us through this process, they have no idea what is popping off. So i'm going to try and help.

I sound cranky about modern politics bc when I'm not on Twitter I spend my time buried in Congressional hearings of the 1950s and 1960s. And members of Congress then were so much more, I don't know how to put it, substantive. Then I look up and it feels like an idiot parade.
Today members mispronounce words, read written statements, and obviously have no idea what they are talking about. Many don't even know that you're supposed to have substantive knowledge, because they don't think their job is to govern and make important decisions. It's weird.
Members back then were so much clearer. I dislike today's wonk aesthetic not bc I don't like substance but bc I do like it. Complexity in policy is inevitable, but complexity in communication doesn't mean you're substantive it means you don't know what you are talking about.
