Ladies & gentlemen, I'm delighted & equally elated to update u on progress made thus far with regards to #ArewaTechSociety after we began the conversation. I've been doing things like this for ages, but I've never seen a coordinated effort such as this. @ArewaTechS Issa Thread.

Let me begin today by thanking everyone who has shown interest and support for #ArewaTechSociety. We have already put the region on the technological map of the world. Those that called, those that sent in their inputs, thank you to all from the bottom of my heart. @ArewaTechS

We received alot of ideas on how to make #ArewaTechSociety a reality. We equally received many suggestions on the next possible lines of action. I want to assure u that we'll incorporate them all, & we will continue to seek for more ideas from experts in the field @ArewaTechS

So far, in order to formalize #ArewaTechSociety we've secured

I urge you all to follow all the #ArewaTechSociety accounts as a 1st step in bringing and keeping all stakeholders engaged under one platform for easier communication, and dissemination of information going forward. More avenues will also be created. @ArewaTechS

Among the many suggestions that we received for #ArewaTechSociety, the following stood out: the need to talk to each other, hold each other's hands (figuratively), network, partner, collaborate & establish avenues that will aid interactions & communications btw stakeholders.

As a result of this, the #ArewaTechSociety will hold its 1st Maiden Edition of what we call #ArewaTechTalk in all the 19 Northern States & the FCT SIMULTANEOUSLY on Saturday 21st July 2018 where the tech community in EACH state will meet in a coordinated manner. @ArewaTechS

In EACH state #ArewaTechSociety will appoint a volunteer lead coordinator to host the 1st Maiden Edition of #ArewaTechTalk. All stakeholders will convene there to network, build new relationships or strengthen existing ones, as well as interact with young techies. @ArewaTechS.

On that day, by way of introduction, I will make a brief opening remarks for about 5mins via Skype, at the same time, to all the centres hosting #ArewaTechTalk to prep us all on the focus of the day & what we hope to achieve with it. Just to make sure we are all on the same page

In addition to those convening to meet in person, we will invite & encourage all involved in the tech sector to contribute by tweeting their inputs on Saturday 21st July using the #ArewaTechTalk to enable us glean a huge data of people & their areas of expertise #ArewaTechSociety

The goal is to grant access & expand the market for all those involved. Simply tell us & the world what u do through the #ArewaTechTalk on 21st whether at the physical meeting in any of the states & FCT or online from wherever u re. Let the impact that will ve on ur work sink in

So, we need (2) volunteers in EACH of the 19 States & FCT to host this maiden meeting of #ArewaTechTalk. Kindly indicate if u can volunteer in ur state, but ensure that u have a venue that can accommodate 20-30 people or more, & we select & announce them on Wed #ArewaTechSociety

Although not required, venues that will give access to internet connectivity for the #ArewaTechSociety are preferred to allow us temporarily connect online to kickoff the meetings & also give those in diaspora opportunity to connect to any venue of their choice #ArewaTechSociety

We also need volunteers in EACH state to help us develop the e-fliers that'll be used during the online campaign for #ArewaTechTalk, we need these fliers btw tday & tmro. Venue will be edited into the fliers latest by tmro Tuesday after firming up on the location for each state

Other modalities for the #ArewaTechTalk will be communicated to those we selected for hosting the event. We hope to firm up everything between today and tomorrow. By Wednesday we will update y'all with the details such as venues, time, anchor-manual and so on #ArewaTechSociety

I do hope that all the excitement & interest generated by #ArewaTechSociety will be translated into action as we launch #ArewaTechTalk which will be the beginning of something great to come. I urge us all to be a part of this movement as we hit the ground running on Sat 21st July

I wholeheartedly believe that WHEN we get it right with #ArewaTechSociety & #ArewaTechTalk, it will be the KEY to unlocking the greatness of arewa, bcos the solutions to issues bedeviling our region lie in tech. So we have no option but to make this work In Sha Allah. @ArewaTechS

The future of #ArewaTechSociety is indeed very bright In Sha Allah, and i am strongly optimistic that the young men & women in the tech sector will make this a reality in order to create something that will uplift & develop our society & people, In Sha Allah. #Alhamdulillah #End
