Soooo, you know how we've been hinting lately about getting millions of new records delivered on 4TB hard drives, hinting about our first-ever nationwide records project (not just one state or city), hinting about military records, especially mid-19th to early 20th centuries? 1/6
Well, one of our board members is Jonathan Webb Deiss, a military research specialist. (Nope, not a genealogist, but he works with many.) He is going to be teaching a class at @GenFedInstitute.

And he's going to be spilling the beans about our mystery project there TOMORROW. 2/6
FYI, Gen-Fed is the probably hottest ticket around for advanced-level researchers, a whole week of study with experts at @USNatArchives. It sells out faster than Burning Man. Like, historians literally crashed their website this year trying to get in. 3/6

Jonathan is teaching a class at Gen-Fed tomorrow. And he's going to be talking about our new awesome mystery nationwide project, and showing some amazing image samples.

And his class is called "Basic Military Records and Pension Records" HINT HINT HINT OMG SUCH A HINT HERE. 4/6
Now, we're still not going to formally launch our new project for a few more weeks. It's not quite ready for the big announcement yet. It's not even on our website.

But if you like spoilers, see if you can find a friend who's at Gen-Fed tomorrow to leak the details to you. 5/6
Because it's probably not overselling it to say that when these records finally go public for the first time ever, we are all going to get to witness a bunch of genealogists and researchers (especially military historians) lose their frickin' minds, in a good way. 😊 6/6
PS - Jon's Twitter account is @jondeiss and this is Jon geeking out over the new records a few weeks ago:
