I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that @DeborahMeaden has the wrong target. I'm only being brave enough to do this because I know she'll actually consider the argument rather than think I'm out to get her and block me! :)
There has long been this 'plastic bottled water is evil' argument (caricature and not aimed at you personally @DeborahMeaden). I think it's wrong. Not because plastic bottles are ideal but because, in the UK especially, there is a greater issue - bottled sugary, fizzy drinks.
So, let's consider sugary, fizzy drinks. You have a plastic bottle with all the environmental damage that entails. Then you fill it with water that you need to get from somewhere, sugar that you have to grow and process, chemical crap that you have to make...
...and then you have to transport all of those things to a central point, mix them up, cook them (for want of a better word), get the bottle, fill it, add gas that has to be produced somewhere and transported to the central point, and then send it to the shop.
You then knock out your sugary drink for a couple of quid per litre. That's sugary, fizzy drinks.
OK, it'd be better if everyone used multi-use bottles but that could be said for sugary drinks too. Sugary, fizzy drinks then have a knock on costs in terms of obesity and related health issues.
Bottled still water is the one thing that can save people from sugary, fizzy drinks. In France, if you're thirsty, you buy a bottle of water. The chances are it'll be Cristalline and it'll cost you 17 cents for 1.5 litres.
What I do not understand is why the focus in the UK is on bottled water. You drink less of it and it is far *less* damaging on every single level than sugary fizzy drinks.
And, yes, there are people who will remember the 'bottled water is bad' message and take a sugary, fizzy drink instead. Seriously, there are. Please stop focusing on water. People should be encouraged to drink water. Water is great for health and it is environmentally better.
There, I've said it. I will await my demolition by @DeborahMeaden*.

*I'm only aiming this at you because you happened to post what you did at the moment when I was grumpy about this very subject!
ADDENDUM: Some of that didn't post first time. I have since replied to @DeborahMeaden's (valid) point about tap water that sugary, fizzy drinks are much more damaging than bottled water and should be the primary focus (or words to that effect!) :)
