Right about... now, back in 1944, Stauffenberg left his briefcase under the table of the general's planning meeting, and got in his car. The plan was to fly to Berlin to assist in the formation of a government that would negotiate surrender with the Allies...
Unbeknownst to Stauffenberg, once he'd left the planning meeting, another attendee, Heinz Brandt moved the briefcase containing the bomb slightly further away from where Hitler was standing...
